Caramelized Brown Sugar Plaintains
September 2, 2015Today I have a really simple recipe to share with you all! You only need three ingredients and ten minutes of prep time to whip up these really delicious, sweet Caramelized Plaintains! These are a great snack or dessert, and can even be served alongside a protein like chicken or fish!
When you heat up the plaintains (which have been sprinkled with brown sugar) over some heat, a beautiful thing happens. The caramelization is the sugar transforming into a deliciously crisy, sweet crust. It adds a little bite to the otherwise-creamy and soft plaintains! It’s a wonderful balance of textures! And when you serve the warm plaintains with a dollop (or two) of whipped cream, you also get a wonderful balance of temperatures: hot plaintains and cold cream! Yum!

1 tbsp. brown sugar
non-stick spray

1. Slice the plaintains diagonally.

It’s a really tasty dessert that is so quick to prepare!
