Bacon Cheeseburger Salad w/ BigMac Dressing

Who doesn’t love a fast food burger? I know I do but I am trying to make smart food choices now. As I’ve discussed before here, here and here, I am committed to a healthy lifestyle. In addition to making smart food choices, I am also exercising several times per week, drinking plenty of water throughout the day, keeping my stress levels under control and incorporating some mindfulness into my day.

While it may sometimes seem overwhelming to get started on a healthy lifestyle, it is certainly possible. And the rewards are worth it! While I lost 30lb after switching to a healthier lifestyle and clean eating, I am not focused on the scale or the way my jeans fit. I am focused on the fact that my body is healthier by being at a normal BMI.

Today’s recipe is a fun twist on the classic fast food burger. It’s filled with all the elements of a fast food burger that make it irresistible. It has onions, pickles, bacon, cheese, …. and a tasty dressing! Yes, that famous Big Mac dressing. While I don’t know if my version is identical to the famous one, it sure tastes similar to me.

Also, I just wanted to mention that I believe moderation is key. So while indulging in an actual fast food burger once in a while is fine, I like the idea of turning it into a salad so it’s even more guilt-free. Take a look at this salad and tell me … doesn’t it look yummy?

For the burger, I like to use grass-fed beef. I also create small sliders to keep the calories & fat content in check. I simply grill on both sides until cooked throughout.

For the toppings, I add some chopped bacon, dill pickles, red onion, and iceberg lettuce. And of course, the dressing. The famous Big Mac dressing.
