I love mangoes. I love the sweet (and slightly tart) fruit in smoothies, desserts, on oatmeal, in yogurt, and just straight up! Today’s smoothie is a really quick and easy recipe, only requiring 4 ingredients and about 4 minutes of total prep time! My kind of recipe!
Chia seeds are a super healthy addition to oups, salads, smoothies… and when you add them to a smoothie with mango, you won’t even know they are there! However, they add a beautiful speckled look to the drink, in addition, of course, to the myriad of health benefits that can be obtained from the seeds! Chia seeds are rich in nutrients & antioxidants and they are very high in fiber!
Let’s get to the recipe now, shall we?
Mango Chia Seed Smoothie
flesh of 1 mango, chopped
1.5 tbsp. chia seeds
1 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Optional: some ice cubes
1. Place all ingredients in the food processor or blender. Puree until smooth thoughout. Add ice cubes if you want it to be extra cold!
This was a real hit around the house! Even the kids loved this one!
