If you’ve followed this blog for any amount of time, I love my drinks… and ironically, I’m not talking about alcoholic ones! I love my iced teas, my lemonades, my spritzers, my flavored waters, and so on. It’s so important to stay hydrated and having delicious, flavorful (yet still low calorie) beverages by my side all day helps tremendously in upping my water intake!
So today’s recipe is another iced tea recipe… one that infuses the lovely herbal flavor of basil into the fruity and earthy Jasmine Tea. Like all iced tea recipes, you will have to boil water and steep some tea bags, and then add ice or chill the beverage. It’s so worth it, because in the Summer, who wants to be sipping hot tea?! Not me!
So here is the super simple recipe!
Basil Infused Jasmine Iced Tea
~5 basil leaves
sweetener (if desired)
1. Steep the basil and about 5 jasmine tea bags in 1 cup boiling water. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
2. Remove the tea bags and add the hot tea to a quart pitcher. Add cold water and ice cubes. Chill.
3. Serve the iced tea with a few basil leaves as garnish. I will sometimes add a bit of Stevia to sweeten the tea.
This is such an easy, delicious iced tea. I love the flavor that the basil imparts into this drink. And I absolutely love the taste of the Jasmine Tea!
