Initial Watercolor Paint Project for Kids
August 24, 2015This watercolor paint project is a fun, easy craft for kids! All you need is some painter’s tape or washi tape (see other washi tape ideas here, here and here) and a set of watercolor paints! You simply place the tape on the paper, forming any particular letter. Then, you paint over the tape with some watercolors. When you peel the tape off, you’re left with a pretty watercolor art!
My kids loved this project, and Sophia demanded to hang her artwork in her room to admire it every day. I’m so glad when she expresses a pride in her artwork, and I always try to foster within her a sense of creativity with her artwork. Some other kid’s crafts we’ve done in the past (this, this and this) have really instilled within her a love for arts & crafts… and to be honest, I myself love doing art with her!
So here is the easy tutorial on this project!

Smart Mom, helping to instill love of making art in your child. Why did schools have to drop art and band and gym class? Then they wonder why all kids want to do is play on their phones or computers. duh. What is being done with money that was used to pay teachers for those subjects? Talk about taking jobs away. More Moms like you need to be sharing these activities with their kids, hopefully you and other Moms like you can get these skills going again. What are kids supposed to do with those skills in their hearts/heads if they aren’t encouraged more? Keep up great work Mom, lets hope you inspire many more parents to do art and other subjects taken away from our kids. You are to be commended. Happy week
I do love encouraging the kids to explore their creative side through art. I myself absolutely loved drawing, coloring, sketching, painting, etc. when I was a child. And I remember how much fun it was to make a piece of art and then display it in my room! I want my kids to feel that same sense of pride over their artwork. Who knows! Maybe one of them will become an artist! 🙂
Thanks for your kind words, JaneEllen!
