Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays of the year. Between the fun costumes, delicious treats and great fun, the Halloween season is definitely a festive time of the year. To bring the Halloween spirit to my dining table this year, I made a set of Monster Soda Can Stairs! This serves as a fabulous place to display the new Halloween Mini Monster cans of Sunkist®, 7UP®, A&W® Root Beer, Canada Dry®, Squirt® or Big Red® I found at Walmart. I can’t wait to share with you how this all came together!
Here’s a sneak peek at the stairs I made!
Aren’t they cute?! Before I share the full tutorial on how I made those stairs, let me just tell you about a fun app I recently discovered. The Mini Monsters App will bring to life the monsters on these Halloween Soda Cans in an interactive augmented reality experience. To get the app, simply download it from www.minimonsters.com. If you have more than one can, you will even the monsters interacting with each other. You can also record a video of your monster experience or take selfies with the monsters! How fun! Buy these soda cans and experience the #MiniMonsters augmented reality for yourself!
Now, let’s get to the tutorial for the stairs. By the way, you will need some wooden boards for this project. Feel free to have the home improvement store make all the cuts for you, if you don’t have a jigsaw or circular saw at home. Here’s everything you’ll need:
- 9 1″x2″ boards, each cut to about 10″ long
- scrapbook paper
- wood glue
- hot glue & glue gun
- scissors & cutting blade
- Halloween themed stickers
Start by stacking 5 of the wooden boards on top of each other, applying some wood glue between the layers. Let the glue dry fully.
Stack 3 more wooden boards on top of each other, again applying wood glue between the layers. Let the glue dry fully.
Now, use some wood glue to attach the set of 3 boards to the set of 5 boards. Finally, attach the single remaining board to the front. Here is what the stairs should look like at this point!
Using some hot glue, adhere some Halloween-themed scrapbook paper to the back of the stairs.
Carefully, fold the paper down along the top and front of the stairs, adding hot glue along the way to ensure a smooth finish.
Place the stairs on its side to trace the shape onto additional scrapbook paper. Cut out the shape and adhere that to the side of the stairs.
Use some orange washi tape along the edges to give the stairs a more finished look.
As a final touch, add some Halloween stickers to the set of stairs. Isn’t this adorable?
These stairs make the perfect spot to display some of my favorite cans of soda: A&W 6-pack Mini Monster Cans, 7UP 6-pack Mini Monster Cans, and Canada Dry 6-pack Mini Monster Cans. I picked up all these cans from Walmart during a recent shopping trip.
I love that these 7.5-ounce cans are smaller and are the perfect size for everyday occasions, including parties, play dates, gatherings, etc.
Here are the Monster Soda Cans on the stairs. See all the monster faces staring at you… how fun!
I love how this project came out. What I love about this project is that I can easily re-use these stairs for other holidays, by simply adding different paper and stickers!
Paired with a few other spooky elements, these stairs make the perfect Halloween display on my dining table!
These 6-packs of soda are available at Walmart. Look for these cans in the soda aisles at your local Walmart store. Before you head to the store, be sure to take advantage of this fabulous Ibotta offer!
Now, find out more about what makes these Halloween Monster Cans unique and tell me: Have you tried these smaller cans? Are you gearing up for Halloween yet? What is your favorite part of this season?
