Customize your living room wall decor with paint DIY

I picked up a great deal on some metal wall décor at Home Goods. It was in the Clearance section and I think I snagged this piece for under 10 bucks! It has a cute flower motif with multiple sizes of metal flowers. I hung it up in my living room for a few months. But then I felt like it was too dark. Yes, we have a lot of natural light in our living room. Huge windows and patio doors and even a skylight in the cathedral ceiling. Most people would probably say the room could sport dark décor, but I have a thing for light and airy. I just feel less oppressed when my surroundings are bright and cheery and uplifting.

So I set out to brighten this piece. Here is the original piece on the wall.

I gathered my supplies, which are basically a foam paint brush and some paint (multiple colors if you want to customize your own color).

Then, you just need to start painting. It doesn’t matter if not every flower looks identical in the end.

I love how some flowers have more paint than others. It just adds to the unique, crafty feel of the piece.

Happy decorating!
