Another easy DIY wall art idea

You know me and wall décor! We go hand in hand! I’m always trying to think of ways to spruce up my walls.

Well, I had this soft, flexible placemat from TJ Maxx. It was in the shape of a seashell and it was perforated with multiple holes. It sat on my dining table for a while. I bought it, thinking I would use it for my daughter’s under-the-sea birthday party (more on that to come). However, I never found a great place to use it for her party.

And then I made the realization that the bathroom has a nautical theme. I already made these nautical white burlap faux-canvas art pieces for that room. Could I incorporate the seashell in that room? I sure could!

This one is a breeze. Don’t blink or you might miss it. Simply nail the placemat onto the wall in a few locations to secure it and keep it flat and taut.

I love the way this came out. Who would have thought you could use a placemat as easy wall décor? So simply and so unexpected!
