Summer Cooking Tips to Beat the Heat
July 15, 2022This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.
When the temps rise, we tend to spend a lot more time outdoors, enjoying the open air and cherishing time with loved ones. That’s why preparing easy meals & snacks during the summer is always a top priority. Today I’ll be sharing some of my favorite summer cooking tips to beat the heat, featuring Roland Foods, Zip Top and RECIPE 33.
Cool off with chilled dishes featuring Roland Foods Soba Noodles
For over 85 years, Roland Foods has been importing high-quality, premium ingredients from all over the world, such as balsamic glazes, sardines, Asian noodles and more. Now Roland Foods is excited to introduce new colorful packaging and take their classic, time-tested products into the future. Their specialty Organic Soba Noodles are sourced from Taiwan and feature thin brown noodles made of buckwheat flour (or a blend of buckwheat and wheat flours.) With a soft, slippery texture, these noodles are delicious in stir-fries, soups or salads. Perfect for summer! I prepared mine with a savory sriracha teriyaki sauce and served them alongside a piece of sesame salmon & some broccoli.
I love that Roland Organic Soba Noodles are versatile and can be utilized in both hot and cold recipes. Preparing the noodles is super simple too: just add the soba noodles to some boiling water, let the water come back to a boil, simmer for ~3 minutes and drain. A quick, tasty lunch has never been easier!
Enjoy Snacks Outdoors with ZipTop Silicone Containers
During the summer, we love to spend a lot of time outdoors, walking along the lake, enjoying BBQ food in the backyard, and taking plenty of road trips. Bringing snacks along is so easy thanks to Zip Top food storage containers. These unique, reusable containers are made from 100% platinum silicone and are safe for the freezer, dishwasher and microwave. They can even stand up, remain open & zip closed so they’re perfect to take on-the-go or enjoy in the backyard.
Unlike other food storage containers, there are no lids with these food storage containers. so there’s no need to worry about losing components or not finding the correctly-matching sizes. Talk about a smart reusable bag for food! Pack non-perishable snacks for the road with Recipe33 Nuts
Road trips abound during the summer and one of my favorite on-the-go snacks is nuts. These RECIPE 33 Infused Almonds check all the boxes for me! Pioneered by Dan Smith who wanted to create flavored nuts without the messy seasoning that’s unfortunately so common with other brands, RECIPE 33 was born! Thanks to a proprietary small-batch process that infuses flavor into the almonds without artificial additives or flavors, RECIPE 33 offers mess free flavored almonds in 5 unique flavor combinations:
- Black Truffle infused almonds: made with almonds, sea salt, and real Italian winter black truffle (pair with wine & cheese)
- Smoky Serrano infused almonds: made with almonds, sea salt and fresh serrano peppers (pair with a sweet wine)
- Garlic Dill infused almonds: made with almonds, sea salt, dill & garlic (pair with a sweet iced tea)
- Lemon Rosemary infused almonds: made with almonds, fresh lemons & rosemary (pair with a white wine)
- Cinnamon Vanilla infused almonds: made with almonds, cane sugar, real vanilla beans & whole cinnamon sticks (pair with ice cream or yogurt)
My favorite thing about RECIPE 33 Infused Almonds is that they are so flavorful without any sticky, salty mess. My hands are completely clean after enjoying these almonds. RECIPE 33 almonds are made with real ingredients & are perfect as an on-the-go snack, a topping on a variety of salads or an addition to a cheese board. If you’d like to try these almonds for yourself, take advantage of this special offer: save $2 on the 4oz bags with the promo code: TryRECIPE33.
Avoid midday cooking
During the middle of the day, the sun is strongest and the temps are highest. Avoid excessive cooking during these hot midday hours. Do all the prep work early in the day to avoid having to heat up the kitchen during the hottest parts of the day.
Take advantage of smaller appliances
If you have to do some cooking later in the day when it’s already super hot outside, consider using smaller appliances. For example, the toaster oven, slow cooker or pressure cooker won’t heat up the whole house in the same way that a full-size oven will, so try to switch to those appliances as much as possible during the summer.
Plan your meals for the week
Planning your meals can save you both time & money over the long run. During the summer, planning meals can also help with organizing food prep and making meals that can be repurposed in different ways.
I hope these tips have inspired you to make the most of summer, while still making your meals easier than ever!

I like those zip top containers. Nice to know they are BPA free.
I’m loving those containers. I need to get some of them myself. Those would be great for snacks.
These are all really great and very helpful tips! I’m surely gonna keep this in mind! Thanks for sharing this with us!
We cook a lot outside or via small appliances during the hot weather seasons. my home is hot enough without the added oven temps!
The noodles sound great. I do tend to order soba noodles when I go out. I’ve not made any dishes at home with them yet.
The soba noodles and salmon look SO good! I’m also a fan of the reusable baggies, for sure!
I’ve looked into the reusable bags before, but they were so pricey on Amazon! I’ll gladly take a 20% coupon.
I heard of Soba noodles but I don’t think I have the courage to try them. But the salmon and everything else I can absolutely do lol. Great post, thanks for sharing.
All those almond snack products look so tasty and the reusable bags are a great idea!
These are great tips to beat the heat. I make a lot of salads with cold and nutrient ingredients!
It isn’t always fun cooking during the summer months. It’s hot and I’d rather not slave over a hot stove. I find things that are super easy to make like salads, sandwiches, microwave meals.
