Ways I’m Putting My Health First this SpringApril 29, 2022
This is a sponsored post written by me for Snack Primal. All opinions are mine alone.
For me, spring always signals the start of something fresh and new. Once the weather warms up, I always like to refresh my home & yard, reset my diet and kickstart some healthy lifestyle habits. Today I’m sharing some simple ways that I’m putting my health first this spring. From getting more exercise to choosing smart snacks like Snack Primal walnuts, keep reading for all the details.
1. Choose snacks wisely.
When it comes to snacks, not all of them are created equal. One of my favorite all-time snacks are walnuts because they are packed with protein, fiber, Omega-3 and plenty of vitamins, minerals & antioxidants. The convenient packs and delicious flavors from Snack Primal make this the perfect snack to take along on springtime adventures.
There are four varieties to choose from: sassy root better, sriracha, blueberry and natural unsalted. I tried all of them and they are truly delicious. These walnuts are fresh and vibrant and so full of flavor.
Snack Primal walnuts are non-GMO and are grown in sunny California. Since they’re non-perishable, they make the perfect accompaniment for hikes, picnics, beach trips, etc.
With almost 3 g of Omega-3 per serving, these heart-healthy nuts boost brain function and offer an easy way to add plant-based protein to any diet.
Not only are these nuts delicious on their own, they’d also make a tasty topping on salads and other dishes.
2. Stay hydrated
Staying hydrated is essential for optimal well-being and this is especially true during the warmer months, when we’re spending more time outdoors. If you get bored of plain water, consider infusing your water for an easy flavor boost. Some of my favorite additions include citrus, berries, melons, fresh ginger, or mint.
3. Get moving
Ever since we got our puppy a few months ago, we’ve all been going for walks around the neighborhood every single day and that has honestly been so wonderful. Just getting outside, soaking in some sun, and being active does wonders for the body, mind and soul. Make an effort to get outdoors and move your body every day.
4. Prioritize sleep
Everyone has experienced the results of a poor night’s sleep: the fatigue, the fogginess, the irritability, and so on. A good night’s sleep is key for a balanced lifestyle so it’s important to take the steps necessary to improve your sleep each night. Some tips for better sleep hygiene include sticking to a sleep schedule, keeping the bedroom temperature cool, and limiting screen time in the evenings.
5. Do a digital detox
Technology enhances our lives in countless ways, but make sure you’re not letting your phone, laptop and TV distract you from living your own life to the fullest. This spring, consider pursuing new sports and hobbies that get you off the screen and engaging in meaningful, enriching activities. I want to get back to playing tennis with my husband and we’re getting back on the court next week!
