5 Ways We’re Staying Safe During the Pandemic

Over the past several months, this pandemic has presented so many challenges for our family, as well as families all over the country. In some ways, life is slowly returning back to normal but in other ways, things are not yet the same. We are still social distancing, we are still wearing masks, we are still disinfecting surfaces and so on. Today I’m going to share several ways my family has been staying safe and I’m especially excited to share some details about the iClean® mini. This is a revolutionary new device that converts regular tap water into an amazing sanitizer that’s both safe & effective.

1. Disinfect surfaces frequently.

One of the most important ways to prevent the transmission of germs is to disinfect surfaces frequently. However, conventional chemicals can be harsh on the skin, toxic to younger kids and unkind to the environment. What I love about the iClean mini is that it can replace all those traditional harsh chemicals that live underneath your sink.

In fact, the iClean mini is so safe that it can be used to sanitize fresh fruits & veggies. Safe for kids and adults alike, the solution produced by this device can get on your skin, in your eyes or even your mouth without harmful consequences. The solution simply reverts back to water & oxygen!

Wondering about the science behind this device? As a chemical engineer myself, so did I. Well the iClean mini turns tap water into liquefied ozone. The diamond electrode core produces stabilized aqueous ozone (a liquid form of ozone) by taking oxygen molecules (O2) and safely converting them into ozone molecules (O3.) This ozone is then infused into cold tap water, making it a highly effective cleaner and sanitizer.

I really love the sleek, elegant look of the device. Setting it up was super simple too. First, charge it; it will take 60 minutes to reach a full charge, which will then deliver hundreds of sprays. Then fill the base of the device with regular cold tap water; find out how much water is in the device at any time by looking through the reservoir window.

Finally, press the power button to create an oxidizing solution. Clean, sanitize and deodorize virtually any hard surface, including counters, shopping cart handles, produce, furniture, toys, remote controls, etc.

There are no foul odors, no harmful chemicals and no residue rinsing! And best of all? It kills up to 99.999% of germs, including viruses similar to the one that causes COVID-19. It also kills mold, mildew and bacteria.

2. Wash hands often.

One of the mainstays of our routine has been to teach the kids to practice good hand hygiene every day multiple times per day. This means we are washing our hands with soap & water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important after spending time in a public place, after touching something someone else has handled, or after coughing / sneezing.

3. Avoid close contact with others.

Social distancing (at least 6 feet from others) is something we’ve been practicing since March. As a mom with two young kids, this has not necessarily been easy. My kids miss their friends so much but I remind them that this is a temporary situation. For groceries, we have been using a curbside pick-up service since March so we haven’t had to go in-store at all. We’ve been staying in contact with friends & family mostly through voice calls, texts and video chats.

4. Wear a face covering.

Wearing a cloth covering that covers the mouth & nose is essential, especially when around other people. The cloth face covering is primarily intended to protect others but it still offer some extra protection to the wearer.

5. Pay attention to symptoms.

According to the CDC, keeping a close eye on symptoms is key. Take note of any new symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath or other symptoms of COVID-19. Follow CDC guidelines on what to do if any symptoms appear.
