5 Ways to Get Active This Spring
March 11, 2020This is a sponsored post written by me for Clearly Filtered. All opinions are mine alone.
I can just picture it now: the sun is shining brightly, the birds are playing in the spring puddles, and there’s a warm breeze around me. Spring will be here in no time so today I’m sharing 5 ways to get outdoors & stay active during the upcoming season. How will I stay hydrated while on-the-go? I’m absolutely loving this Insulated Stainless Steel Filtered Water Bottle from Clearly Filtered and I can’t wait to share all the details with you.
1. Take up a sport.
Personally, when I’m playing a competitive sport, it never feels like a workout. The exertion just feels like fun! Personally, I love playing tennis or basketball – I did both in high school & college. If you don’t have a sport that you already love, consider trying a new one. A lot of sports leagues open up in the springtime so it’s the perfect time to try a new activity! You might even make some new friends while burning some calories. That’s a win-win in my book!
2. Go for walks.
When it comes to being outdoors, nothing beats a simple walk or jog. I find that brisk walks aren’t just good for the body, but also for the mind. There’s nothing better than heading to the local park, putting on some great music and just walking my worries away. By the time I’m done, I’m exhausted but totally rejuvenated at the same time. It’s a feeling like no other! If you’re tired of the same route every day, search online for scenic walking trails in your area- you just might be surprised by what you might find. To stay hydrated on my long walks, I love that this Clearly Filtered Stainless Steel Water Bottle offers powerful on-the-go filtration. This means I can fill up my bottle at the park water fountains with confidence! Plus, thanks to the double-wall insulation, this bottle keeps my water cold for up to 24 hrs. So regardless of how many errands I have to tackle, I’ll have refreshingly cold water on demand throughout the day.
3. Get creative outdoors.
Did you know that you can do a workout in the open air using many of the same moves you might do in the gym? See some picnic benches? Practice push-ups against them. That sidewalk curb? Use it to practice your balance and keep your core engaged. Low-hanging tree branch? Do pull-ups (just make sure the branch is strong enough to support your weight.) With the right mindset, the world can be your gym! Did you know that this Clearly Filtered Water Bottle has a 20oz capacity and includes the first replaceable Affinity Filtration filter? This filter removes 99.9% of contaminants from tap water, making this bottle the perfect companion for all your spring adventures.
4. Tend to the garden.
For me, when the temps start rising, I always start to think about my garden. There’s no better time than the spring to improve the lawn, the flower beds and the shrubs. Consider planting some fruits, vegetables and summer-flowering bulbs during springtime. Also, take some time early in the season to cut back overgrown bushes, remove weeds and start a mowing routine.
5. Spring cleaning.
Spring cleaning doesn’t only have to take place inside the house. In fact, our garage usually gets a deep cleaning and overhaul during springtime. The same goes for our outdoor spaces, such as the patio. All the furniture usually needs a good wipe down to remove the grime & dirt that accumulated throughout winter. I also typically wash all the outdoor pillows before setting them out for spring. Keep in mind that an hour of deep cleaning can burn up to 250 calories so adding some spring cleaning to your to-do list will benefit both your property and your cardiovascular system.
Regardless of what spring adventures you have in store for the next few months, make sure you’re re-hydrating with filtered water on-the-go. This Clearly Filtered 18/8 Stainless Steel Water Bottle is 100% free of BPA, BPS, & phthalates and it’s completely sweat-proof. No bad odors or bad tastes in your water! Plus, the hygienic flip-top mouthpiece is super easy to clean and tucks neatly out of the way when not in use.
The filter (the blue cylinder) is attached to the straw and should be replaced after 25 gallons or 6 months (whichever comes first.) Note that 25 gallons is approximately 160 fills of this bottle. I love that the filter removes 99.9% of fluoride, lead and pesticides. The filtration technology actually removes over 230 contaminants in total and the filters are tested to meet NSF standards.
Some of you might remember that this is not the first time I’ve talked about Clearly Filtered technology. In fact, in this post here, I discussed their Under-Sink Water Filtration System. I love that it still provides filtered water for my family and that it’s conveniently hidden under the cabinet for a super clean, elegant look in my kitchen. I can even order replacement filters from the comfort of home, which as a busy mom, I totally appreciate the convenience of that. Just like with the Filtered Water Bottles from Clearly Filtered, the Under-Sink Water Filtration System removes 99.9% of contaminants for cleaner water at home.
