The Power of Music

This is a sponsored post written by me for Mallary Hope. All opinions are mine alone.

I have always believed in the power of music. There are so many songs out there that remind me of a specific place or a specific time in my life. These songs evoke my emotions in a powerful way. There are songs that make me excited and songs that make me sad… and everything in between. I recently had the pleasure of listening to the “Out of My Hands” album from Mallary Hope and I found it to be a wonderful collection of powerful, inspirational songs!

Mallary Hope is an American Christian music singer & songwriter. Her debut album “Out of My Hands” features well-written songs with moving lyrics. There are both slow ballads and upbeat, catchy songs in the album, making this a well-rounded collection. I know I’ll be listening to these songs for a long time. Check out the gorgeous cover art of the album – don’t you love the faded-out effect?!

By far, my favorite song of the album is “Me,” which celebrates self-acceptance. The song acknowledges that we can always be stronger and braver, but that is not always easy to accomplish. The main message of the song is that we need to be ourselves, accepting our shortcomings & imperfections along the way. What a powerful message! This resonates with me very much and reminds me of my perfectionist tendencies. Indeed I’m a work in progress – accepting myself will always be an ongoing goal. “Me” has a beautiful melody and I totally tried to sing along with this ballad. Check out the video below:

Another favorite song is “My God.” I consider myself religious so this song spoke to me on so many levels. I really love the line that states He’s “got the whole world in His hands”.  I also enjoyed the section, where Mallary sings “He is the truth, He is the life. He is yours, and He is mine.” The song talks about forgiveness and a deep love for God. I shared this song with my husband, who also really enjoyed the lyrics and musicality of this song. By the way, the chorus of this song is totally catchy- you’ll want to sing along.

My third favorite song is “Now.” This upbeat melody talks about the unpredictability of life. It discusses the uncertainty of one’s life path and the struggle to find a way to just go with the flow. Indeed just putting “one foot in front of the other” is all it takes to move forward. Sometimes the simplest solution is the only one needed.

Here’s a listing of all the songs on the album – so many awesome songs to enjoy!
