If you’ve followed this blog for some time, you know two things about me. I like to create decor for my home and I like to shop at Dollar Tree. I’ve made this, this, this and this using supplies from Dollar Tree in the past. Today, I will be sharing how I used some DollarTree.com picture frames and lilac stems to create a gorgeous floral centerpiece for my dining table.
Did you know that Dollar Tree is the largest single-price-point retailer in America? There are stores in all 48 contiguous states, so there is a good chance there is a Dollar Tree near you. And guess what? Even if you don’t live near a Dollar Tree, you can still take advantage of the amazing buying power at Dollar Tree online via their website here. From household essentials and groceries to personal care products and seasonal items, there is an amazing array of high-quality merchandise at Dollar Tree.

DIY Dollar Tree Tabletop Decor
Let’s get right to the tutorial now. Here’s what you’ll need for this project (everything is from Dollar Tree):
- four 5″x7″ brown picture frames
- 12 Lilac stems, blue
- 6 Lilac stems, purple
- 6 Lilac stems, fuschia
- Spanish moss
- hot glue
- floral foam
Start by removing the backing and picture inside each frame. Use hot glue to attach the frames together into a box shape.
Here’s what the box should look like at this point.
Place the floral foam inside the box and cover loosely with the Spanish moss. I love the wild, organic look of the moss.
Now, start inserting all the Lilac stems inside the box. I tried to position the different colors of lilac flowers evenly throughout the arrangement. When you ship your DollarTree.com order to a local Dollar Tree store, shipping is free. That’s how I purchased some of my supplies for this project. I love it when I can stretch my dollar even farther!
This is such a cute addition to our dining table. I can’t believe how easy it was to whip together this fun DIY project. By shopping at DollarTree.com, I don’t have to worry about the store running out of items. I don’t have to deal with traffic, parking, crowds, etc. Instead, I can order exactly what I need from the convenience of my couch!

I had no idea that Dollar Tree was so popular. That’s an interesting centerpiece and a creative use of frames.
At our house we entertain a lot and therefore I’m always looking for something pretty for the table. I love this idea! I haven’t looked much at the Dollar Tree .. but I’ll be stopping soon to see what I can come up with.
Such a creative idea. I would’ve just replaced the lilac stems with some cute tree branches or something more natural and resistant. Happy spring 🙂
Tree branches would look amazing during the fall or winter, but I wanted a bright pop of color for spring. So I chose the flowers. Thanks for visiting, Mihaela!
Oh my goodness, that’s absolutely adorable. I need to start thinking outside of the box when I’m at DT to come up with fun DIY projects like this.
Thanks, Terri!
It’s so nice to be able to decorate our homes and party events on a friendly budget most of us can afford.
now that’s a great DIY project for Easter time… I’ll have to head to the dollar store and make this with the kids (they love helping with DIY projects !) thanks for the idea and the directions !
This is a cute idea. You could even use it year round by swapping out the flowers too.
These are adorable. I love shopping at Dollar Tree. They never run out of beautiful and affordablw stuff for the home.
Ok I’m so trying this DIY. I’m going to the Dollar store tomorrow and picking up some frames! SO cute!!
Amazing! Great job. I love diy’s. You can put them on videoo too.
I really like this idea. One quick question is what did you use as the base of the centerpiece.
Did I miss a step. I don’t think moss and foam are sitting on table?
Yes you’re right. I just used another piece of foam board (cut to size) on the bottom. Thanks for your comment, Nicola.
