I have yet another fun update for you all today. I recently received an old wall-mounted shelf that had multiple little compartments in it from a relative. This shelf was old & tired-looking! I’ve seen similar shelves at the thrift store many times. And if you’ve taken a walk around home decor stores recently, you know that multiple-compartments shelves are all the rage nowadays. I’m so happy with the way this shelf turned out! It was a fun project that makes a fabulous impact in my living room now!

Since turquoise is my favorite color for home decor accents, I grabbed my handy dandy paint stash and started painting. I used the same custom chalk-y paint finish that I used previously in this post. Simply brushing this thick, grout-infused paint onto the shelf created beautiful streaks. If you’re looking for a great chalk-y paint, try this one!

To add an even more dramatic distressed look, I used some sandpaper to give it more character.
