Organizing my house is definitely a favorite activity of mine. Yes, there’s work involved and sometimes it can get a little tiring. However, there’s something incredibly satisfying and exciting about taking a messy drawer and transforming it into a beautiful, tidy space. Today, I’m sharing how I organized my nightstand drawer using DIY organizers that I made out of cardboard boxes! Now, all my nightstand essentials, such as lip balm or Extra® Gum Spearmint, have a dedicated spot in my drawer!

I love Extra® Gum, so I was totally excited to find the new Extra® Gum 35-stick packages at Walmart! These larger packages, which feature durable recycled packaging, are so convenient and adorable. I love that with these new packages, I can always have more gum: more gum to enjoy myself and more gum to share with others! These larger packages also make it so easy to split between different places: between home & work, between kitchen & bedroom, between car & home, etc. I picked up two different varieties: Extra® Gum Spearmint and Extra® Gum Polar Ice®!

My husband and I always love to chew some Extra® Gum in the evenings. The great taste and low calorie content make Extra® Gum a definite hit in our house. I always keep some Extra® Gum in my nightstand, but my nightstand drawer was definitely in need of an organizational makeover. Here, take a look at the “Before” drawer!

Here’s what you’ll need to make these DIY Drawer Organizers!

Supplies:
various cardboard boxes
scrapbook paper
scissors
double-sided tape

The first thing I did was empty out the contents of the drawer so I can assess my inventory.

To figure out the proper height of the little drawer organizers, I simply placed one of the boxes in the drawer and marked the top line with a marker.

I then cut out the box at the marked line. This is what I had at this point.

I then cut several different boxes and placed them in the drawer to figure out the layout of all the organizers.

I then used the scissors and double-sided tape to wrap a box with the scrapbook paper.

I wrapped the remaining boxes with various scrapbook papers of complementary colors/patterns, and placed them all in the drawer.

Now, I re-filled the drawer with all the contents, placing each item in a designated space. Everything has a place now! This puts a big smile on my face! 🙂

And my Extra® Gum 35-stick package is so easily accessible, so I can hand one stick to my husband in the evening when he asks for one! Because he will ask for one or two sticks of gum!
