Easy DIY Mail Organizer Basket
June 26, 2015During my last trip to the thrift store, I picked up this bright neon pink basket for $1.50, not really sure what to do with it. But I did know that for $1.50, there was enough potential to make it worth my while! 🙂
When I came home, and was trying to sort through the pile of mail that had collected on the kitchen counters, I realized that that basket could be put to great use as a DIY Mail Organizer Basket. I could even hang it on the wall to completely free up my counters! Sounded good to me! Here is how this all went down!
Easy DIY Mail Organizer Basket
First thing I did was to cut off one of the handles, so it can hang flatly and evenly against the wall.
Next, I simply spray painted it with my Oil-Rubbed Bronze paint.
{TIP: I hung the basket using a piece of string from a branch in my yard. Yes, I may have looked weird to my neighbors, but this way, I was able to get all of the sides of the basket in one fell swoop. And I didn’t have to really be subjected to any fumes!}
I also tied two layers of twine around the basket, and stuck on a chalkboard label to the front of the basket. I used a red permanent marker to write “Mail” on the front! It’s simple and cute, and definitely gets the job done!
And here it in its final place… hanging on the wall right off the kitchen. It’s the perfect spot for us because we are always bringing mail in or out of the house right by those steps, and now I have a spot to drop that mail there, until I am ready to process it!
Here is another DIY Mail Organizer I’ve made in the past:
