When cooking, there are many substitutions you can employ to save calories and fat. Here are some tips!
- Substitute bacon with smoked turkey or lean prosciutto.
- Substitute white bread with whole-grain bread.
- Substitute oil or butter with applesauce.
- Substitute oil to prevent sticking with non-stick spray.
- Substitute an egg with two egg whites.
- Substitute white flour with whole-wheat flour.
- Substitute evaporated milk with evaporated skim milk.
- Substitute salad dressings with flavored vinegars.
- Substitute cream-based soups with pureed potatoes or tofu.
- Substitute syrup with pureed fruits.
