Personalized changing pad cover project DIY

January 17, 2012 0 By EngineerMommy

After using some new fabric to make a new crib skirt, I decided to use some of the extra fabric to update our changing pad cover. We bought those disposable pads to put on top of the changing pad cover. But those disposable pads aren’t pretty and they certainly don’t match the nursery theme or colors. But my leftover fabric does…

Here is how I used some extra fabric to update my changing pad cover! Note that my changing pad project is really a slipcover to be used in addition to a full changing pad cover. In the pictures below, you can see the original changing pad cover peeking through on the sides! The purpose of this changing pad slipcover is that in the event of a diaper changing accident, you don’t have to replace the whole changing pad cover.

  1. Measure the length of your changing pad and cut a piece of fabric that is long enough. Make sure the fabric is wide enough to wrap fully around your changing pad. My fabric was about 60″ wide by 30″ long.
  2. Use some heavy-duty velcro to secure the fabric on the bottom side of the changing pad.
  3. Flip it back over and start changing diapers!
