American apparel nail polish review & neon color pedicure

July 19, 2012 1 By EngineerMommy

Neon is everywhere! It’s in almost every clothing store window this summer. It’s in the clothes, in the accessories, and in the makeup. I love neon colors on my nails! When I was walking by the American Apparel store today, I decided to check out their nail polishes. I had heard some good things about it and decided to give it a try.

Much to my surprise, when I checked out their nail polish display, they had some neon colors on clearance! So I got a great deal on this Neon Orange nail polish – it’s a beautiful color with a strong coral undertone! Anyway, I picked it up and decided I’d try it on my toenails.

The bottle is great. Unlike most round nail polish bottles, the AA ones are rectangular, which makes storing them side by side a breeze! The application was easy thanks to the smooth formulation of the polish. And the longevity of the polish is pretty good, too. It’s been on my toes for a few weeks now and it still looks as good as Day One.

I decided to try out a variation of the French Pedicure. First I applied the Neon Orange to the whole nail. Then I waited several hours (it’s best to wait at least 6 hours!) and I used basic French manicure nail polish guides to apply the white tips. Finally, I used a glittery silver nail polish with a very thin art brush to outline the division between the two colors. I love how they came out, and I will be heading back to American Apparel for more nail polish colors soon!
