Every blogger knows that traffic is king. I mean, content is king, but traffic is really important too! 🙂

If you’ve been blogging for a while or if you just started your blog yesterday, finding consistent sources of traffic can be challenging – to say the least. Even if you create an amazing piece of content that solves a common problem, getting eyes on that content is not necessarily easy. You may share it on your social media channels. You may even share it with your friends and family. But how do you get a lot of readers visiting your blog on a daily basis?

Today I will share some great traffic sources for your blog. Some may require a bit of work to set up. Some steps may be quicker to implement. Either way, if increased traffic is your goal, check out these easy tips you can start using today.

Free Traffic Sources for Bloggers

1. Quora:
It’s a question and answer site with hundreds of millions of users. You can follow certain topics to stay in the loop of new questions. If you have an answer to share, you can share your wisdom and when appropriate, share a link to a relevant post on your site. If the answer gets voted up, you can receive a lot of amazing traffic.

2. Video Marketing:
YouTube is actually its own search engine nowadays. People are flocking to the site every day and searching for everything from installing a light fixture to re-designing a website. If you’re not creating videos, you are not staying ahead of the curve. When you publish videos on YouTube, you can include a back link to your site. When your videos get enough traffic, they will convert to blog page views.

3. Email Marketing:
Email marketing is an art in its own right. There is definitely a right way – and wrong way – to do things. Make sure you are building your email list and automatically sending all new blog posts to your subscribers. If you are struggling to get more subscribers, consider creating a free product (like an eBook or printables) that you can give away to entice people to subscribe.

4. Facebook Groups:
There are Facebook groups for basically every niche you can think of. Whether your blog focuses on DIY or recipes or lifestyle tips or all of the above, find Facebook groups that allow you to share blog links. Share relevant posts to the group and watch the traffic pour in.

5. Pinterest Group Boards:
Pinterest is another major source of traffic for many blogs. Each pin is associated with a specific URL so it’s a great way to entice people to come back to your site for more information. Pinterest also has Group Boards, which are boards that allow multiple people to pin content. This means each one of your pins will be seen by more eyes and this could convert to more traffic to your blog in the long run.

6. Guest posting:
Know another blogger in your niche that has decent traffic? Offer to write a post for her. A guest post does a few beneficial things for you. It gets your name out there. It usually results in at least once back link back to your site. It can often boost page views to your site. The benefit for the site owner is that she gets free content for her blog.
