My family has been really looking forward to football season. From cheering on our favorite players to enjoying some great snacks, game day is a lot of fun around here. Today, I’ll be sharing how to make a fun, festive Yard Line Table Runner to bring the football season into your dining room decor. To make sure we have fabulous snacks on hand, I picked up the new SNICKERS® Bars with football-themed packaging from my local CVS store!

Isn’t this table runner perfect for game day? Be sure to look for these SNICKERS® Bars with football-themed packaging! They have fun football-themed sayings on them, such as “BENCHED”, “DEFENSIVE”, etc.

Now, let me share the details of how to make the table runner. Here’s what you’ll need to get started with this project:
- green fabric, 1.5 yard
- white fabric marker
- number stencils
- white ribbon
- iron-on hem tape
- fabric glue
- iron
- pair of scissors

Cut the green fabric into a rectangle that’s approximately 15″ x 50″. You can choose a different size to fit your table better. Start folding over 1/2″ of fabric on each side of the rectangle and use a strip of iron-on hem tape to make the edges look crisp. Use the iron to seal all the edges.

At the corners, make sure to fold the fabric over neatly and evenly for a clean look.

Here is what the top of the fabric looks like at a corner.

Now, use a strip of fabric glue to attach five (or more, if you prefer) strips of white ribbon to look like yard lines.

Here is what the major yard lines look like at this point.

Next, I used my fabric marker and stencils to number the major yard lines: 10, 20, 30, etc.

Finally, I used a ruler and my fabric marker to make some of the minor yard lines.

That table runner is the best! I am definitely going to make one of these so I have it on hand for our next game day get together.
This is such a fun table runner. It’s perfect for tailgating or for a Super Bowl party. Guests would get a kick out of it.
With football season kicking off, I’m sure this will come in handy! My boys are all about sports and it would be awesome to prepare something like this for them especially when they’re going to watch a game at home with their friends!
