Ever since we purchased our current home one year ago, we have been focused on one home remodeling project after another. One of the first rooms we originally renovated was the master bath. It’s a small space, but with some hard work, we made it functional and beautiful. However, the honest truth is that the under-sink cabinet in that room has always been an eyesore. We never had a great organization system in place, so getting ready in the morning always takes so much time. Now, with the back-to-school transition in the near future, I decided to tackle that cabinet in an effort to make my mornings run more smoothly. By using labeled, stackable baskets and a DIY over-the-door organizer, I completely transformed that space into something practical & attractive! One of the labeled baskets in the cabinet holds extra rolls of our favorite toilet paper: Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & StrongĀ® (Mega Rolls)! These large rolls require less shopping trips to the store, making this a convenient choice for a busy mom like me!
Want a sneak peek at the cabinet I organized? Here it is!
DIY Cabinet Door Organizer
We’ve done a lot of DIY remodeling work in this bathroom. We tiled that light blue accent wall behind the mirror, we installed the vanity w/ integral sink and we also tiled the floor in this room with some marble tiles. This really is one of my favorite rooms of the house! It’s a small bathroom, but it’s beautiful- the colors are so peaceful!
Well, most of the room is beautiful… Take a look at the inside of that cabinet!
Not pretty, right? One of the reasons we installed a new vanity in this space was because previously, there was a pedestal sink. As pretty as that was, it was not practical for us. There was no storage space. With the new vanity, I get to enjoy plenty of under-sink storage for my toiletries and bathroom essentials. Unfortunately, as you can see in the above picture, I wasn’t exactly making the best use of that space. In my defense, I did use some baskets to try to corral my stuff, but there wasn’t a unified method to the organization! It was time to re-do this space! As with any organizing endeavor, the first step is always to empty the space and wipe it clean!
Then, I picked up a bunch of stackable organizers! I love that the stackable units let me utilize the vertical space in the cabinet.
*Tip: Stick with one color for a more uniform look!
Then, I simply grouped similar items together: all my hair care products together, all my skin care products together, all my facial care products together, all my dental care products together, and so on. I also designated one big green basket in the center to hold all the spare Quilted Northern toilet paper rolls, because nobody wants to ever run out of toilet paper!
I’m loving Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & StrongĀ® because it’s soft, absorbent & affordable. It offers long-lasting comfort with 4X more sheets per roll! The mega roll actually offers the equivalent of 4 regular rolls! Now, that’s convenient!
I picked up Quilted Northern from Target and I got a great value! I love how the mega rolls are designed to offer more sheets per roll! This means I don’t have to think about refilling the roll for a longer period of time! As a busy mom, that’s something I definitely appreciate!
Now, no organizing project is ever complete without some cute labels! So I grabbed my handy dandy label maker and printed out some labels for my cabinet!
I slapped these labels on the baskets and my cabinet was already looking so much better!
I love the way the cabinet looks already, but I didn’t want to let the space on the inside of the cabinet door go to waste!
I picked up this over-the-door cabinet organizer. I knew I could make it work for the cabinet door.
I simply cut the length of it to fit the length of the cabinet door.
I placed some adhesive hooks right on the cabinet door, making sure the distance between the hooks matched the distance between the loops on the over-the-door organizer.
Then, I simply hung the organizer right on the cabinet door. Easy peasy!
Now, the door had convenient pockets that could be used to hold some everyday bathroom essentials, such as my flat iron & a hair brush.
I love the way my cabinet looks now. Dare I say it makes me smile when I open the door? š
Organizing can be so much fun- and so rewarding, too! Now that I’m stocked up on Quilted Northern, my bathroom is refreshed & organized with mega impact!
Look for Quilted Northern toilet paper in a featured display at your local Target store. Try some for yourself and experience these rolls that are four times larger, but still just as comfortable!

I should have my husband do this for his bathroom. He leaves everything out on the counter – thus the reason we do not share a bathroomāŗ . I would love if he would organize in this manner.

I need to do this for my girls’ bathroom sink cabinet. They are pigs and the cabinet is always messy. This might help them keep it cleaner.
I love your idea about hanging a bag on the inside of the door! Why haven’t I thought of that? That is so practical and it would save so much space in a little cramped bathroom cabinet.
