Cheap fall decor – repurpose last year’s stuff

October 6, 2012 0 By EngineerMommy

The cheapest way to decorate for fall is to re-use stuff you already have around the house. But you have to think creatively. Do you have candles strewn around the house that you could collect together and display in one grouping for a big impact? What about potpourri that used to fill a bowl that can now be put on a platter for a different visual display? That’s what I did.

I collected some of my fall harvest decor items and started brainstorming ways to display the stuff for fall. I used this fall potpourri last year in a clear glass bowl, but this year I wanted to do something different with it. I scoured my kitchen for unique display pieces and found this old black wire bread basket. It was perfect!

Oh, and who could forget the wonderful battery-operated candles! Let’s definitely use them as well. I simple lined up my candles on my platter and then filled the spaces between them with the fall potpourri. I love the look, don’t you?
