DIY Ornaments: Cinnamon Stick Stars
November 15, 2015We love decorating the house for Christmas. There’s something really quite special about trimming the tree with the kids, listening to Christmas music and enjoying some yummy baked treats. This year, we are going with a “Rustic Glam” theme for the Christmas tree. I love ornaments that have a rustic feel to them… you know, ornaments with little creatures, natural elements, burlap, wood, etc. And I’m combining those with a few glamorous pieces- ones with glitter, sparkles, sequins, etc. So today, I’m excited to share with you all a DIY ornament that uses cinnamon sticks to form little stars. I also added some faux Christmas berries and glitter, because glitter makes everything a little better! 🙂
Another benefit of these cute DIY ornaments is that they are made of cinnamon sticks, which makes them beautifully fragrant! Is there a scent more iconic of this season than cinnamon?! I think not. Making these DIY ornament stars was a lot of fun! Stay tuned because I will be sharing in a few days another DIY ornament idea using cinnamon sticks!!

How simple and beautiful. I’ve been looking for simple easy ornaments to make.Love idea of using cinnamon sticks so there will be delightful fragrance accompanying the star.
I was trying to make some really nice paper ornaments from Lia Griffiths site but my hands just won’t do the fiddly stuff anymore. Have arthritis in left hand and wrist, since am left handed guess will just have to find easier more manageable for me ornaments to make. I only have rest of Nov. and first week of Dec. to get things made as will be having right shoulder replaced on Dec. 7th. Boy is Nov. flying by. Trying to make gifts to have ready but not so sure will have them done this year. Might have to gift people with IOU’s.
Anyway your wonderful little stars are so perfect for what can do. Must have been meant to be to click on your post. Have some cinnamon sticks but they are eon’s old so will buy some new ones. Will practice making the stars with old sticks, won’t be a waste at least.
