7 Winter Wellness Tips for Moms
February 4, 2019This post was sponsored by Proctor & Gamble as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
The truth is that I don’t have time to get sick. I am usually busy from morning until night with work, appointments, playdates and more. Getting sick puts a real crimp in my day. That’s why I like to stock up on my favorite wellness essentials from Walmart and follow some basic precautions to reduce the likelihood of getting sick.
1. Wash hands frequently!
One of the most important tips to keep germs away is to wash hands often. It’s a tip that I share with my daughters every time I can. Recently, I picked up Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash (in the Spring Water 7.5 oz variety) from Walmart. Did you know that this product kills 99.99% of germs? I love the scent and the awesome foaming action!
Formulated with antibacterial ingredients, this is a product that’s a must-have during cold & flu season. While it’s tough on germs, it’s still gentle on my skin.
2. Take probiotics!
I truly believe that wellness starts from the inside. I have been taking probiotics for years as they provide the “good” bacteria that help to promote a healthy digestive tract. I recently picked up the Align Dualbiotic Gummies (54 count) from Walmart. This gummy formulation is easy to chew and tastes amazing!
What makes this probiotic formulation unique is that it contains a prebiotic fiber (inulin) to help nourish good bacteria in your digestive system. Not all probiotic formulations on the market contain this important prebiotic fiber, so this makes the Align Dualbiotic Gummies a smart choice! Plus, it’s naturally flavored and contains under 1 gram of sugar per gummy.
3. Prioritize a good night’s sleep!
Rest is the time when our bodies can recharge. Despite how busy my schedule can seem, I always make sure I log enough Zzzz’s at bedtime. I like to light a lavender candle in the evening – it signals my mind to start to wind down. Plus, it smells great!
4. Focus on fiber!
Any health routine includes adequate intake of fiber. Metamucil Premium Blend is a wise choice because it features 100% natural psyllium fiber. This type of fiber traps the waste that weighs you down so that you feel lighter. After all, it’s important to focus on digestive health & regularity.
Free of artificial sweeteners or colors, Metamucil Premium Blend is sweetened with plant-based Stevia. It also has natural flavors and colors. With the natural psyllium fiber, Metamucil helps curb the appetite so you feel less hungry between meals. I add some to my morning cup of tea and it tastes amazing!
5. Stock up on medicated drops!
Despite the best intentions, we all get sick from time to time. To tackle those pesky sore throats that are so popular during winter, I stocked up on Vicks VapoCool Severe Medicated Drops (45 count) from Walmart.
With Vicks VapoCool Severe Medicated Drops, I can vaporize my worst sore throat pain. The cooling relief (thanks to a powerful rush of Vicks Vapors) is quite pleasant.
6. Make smart food choices!
Choosing whole foods that are rich in nutrients is part of my wellness routine. I like to stick to a diet rich in fresh fruits & vegetables, along with plenty of lean protein (mostly from chicken and fish). I will occasionally treat myself, but the majority of my diet is healthy.
7. Keep stress under control!
Is your work deadline looming? Did the kids just make a mess in the kitchen? We are all subject to stress on a daily basis, but it’s how we deal with the stress that makes all the difference. To keep my stress hormones from surging, I meditate a few times per week and do cardio several times per week. I find that all the extra activity goes a long way in boosting my mood and keeping me calm.
Shop at Walmart for Vicks VapoCool Severe Medicated Drops, Metamucil Premium Blend, Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash, Align Dualbiotic Gummies and more for your own health & wellness routine!
