Let’s face it… I have more wreaths than doors at this point but I LOVE a good wreath DIY! There’s something about decorating a wreath that just makes my heart sing: starting with a plain base and adding little festive touches until the finished product is a gorgeous decoration that’s perfect for displaying during the holidays! Yes, wreath-making is one of my passions! I’ve made quite a few over the years for different holidays but today’s wreath takes the cake! It’s a fun Christmas wreath (made from a picture frame!) that is totally affordable, since all the supplies came from Dollar Tree.
DIY Picture Frame Christmas Wreath
I love that this wreath is rustic (thanks to the burlap along the frame) and nature-inspired (thanks to all the pine cones). All supplies for this wreath came from Dollar Tree. I have been a loyal shopper of the Dollar Tree for so many years. I recently made this gallery wall for Halloween using only Dollar Tree supplies. Did you know that Dollar Tree is the largest single-price-point retailer in America? Yes, there are thousands of stores throughout the 48 contiguous states, where you can benefit from Dollar Tree’s awesome buying power. You can even shop online at DollarTree.com.
Want to make one of these Christmas wreaths for yourself? Here’s what you need (everything can be found at Dollar Tree):
- 11″x14″ picture frame
- 3 holly stems (the ones with the pine cones)
- 3 red poinsettia clips
- silver glitter bow ornament
- PEACE ornament
- burlap ribbon
- 10-light LED set
- hot glue & glue gun
Start by taking apart the picture frame. Remove the glass & cardboard backing and set aside. We will only be using the rectangular picture frame for the wreath. I have seen square & rectangular wreaths at home decor stores and they can be quite pricey! However, thanks to Dollar Tree, I can recreate that same high-end look for a fraction of the price.
Using a pair of scissors, pry off the small metal clips along the perimeter of the frame.
Wrap the burlap ribbon along the frame, securing it with hot glue along the way.
Adhere the silver ribbon ornament to the lower-right corner of the frame with a generous dollop of hot glue.
Clip the red poinsettia flowers directly to the bow.
Using hot glue, adhere the PEACE ornament to the center of the ribbon.
Remove the pine cones from the holly stems and attach them directly to the frame with hot glue.
Wrap the LED light string around the frame, securing it with a dot of hot glue on the ends. Hide the battery box behind the silver ribbon.
This wreath can be hung on a wall or door with one nail. This was such an easy project and I love how this turned out! Plus, with supplies from Dollar Tree, this wreath was a very affordable project!
At Dollar Tree, every item is offered at a $1 per unit price point (or less!), so you can rest assured that you’re getting great value on a wide variety of merchandise from national & regional brands. I find great stuff at Dollar Tree on everything from stationery to home decor to kitchen tools and more!
Get all the supplies required to make this wreath at your local Dollar Tree or online at DollarTree.com. Keep in mind that if you want to purchase Christmas products after 11/6/17, you will have to visit your local Dollar Tree store.
This year, think outside the box and make a Christmas wreath from a picture frame! Do you shop at Dollar Tree often? Do you also enjoy making wreaths for different holidays?

I am always looking for some crafts to do for the holiday season. I do not have very many decorations so if I can do something by hand and it looks pretty I am going to try it. It’ll be fun to do.
What a fun project this one is! My daughters love to shop Dollar Tree and I’ll be sharing the craft with them.
The Dollar Tree is my one stop shop when it comes to crafting. I love it when someone asks “How much is this” a few times and some random person chimes in “It’s the Dollar Tree, EVERYTHING is a dollar”.

Cute DIY project! I think I have an old picture frame that I can use to make something like this. I will just have to get more materials to make an awesome design too. Thanks for the idea!
I love Dollar Tree. I’ve made a couple of wreaths using picture frames but not with burlap. I love using frames for all kinds of things.
