It’s that time of the year again… that time when seasonal allergies really take off! I know the symptoms well: the sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. I have suffered from seasonal allergies for many, many years, but I have developed ways to manage the symptoms and keep my everyday routine on track. From using Xyzal® Allergy 24HR to exercising indoors, keep reading to find out how to manage your seasonal allergies, too. Now available over-the-counter at CVS, Xyzal has helped me to combat my seasonal allergies and to fully enjoy life!
With my allergies under control, I can comfortably exercise indoors or outdoors. One of my workout essentials is definitely my music player. There’s something about music that just motivates me to push my workouts to the next level. Today, I will be sharing a tutorial for making a DIY Music Player Arm Strap. This quick, easy tutorial is perfect for hands-free listening to music. I listen to music when I clean the house, exercise, cook dinner, etc. Music is a big part of my life and really helps me decompress and unwind.
DIY Music Player Arm Strap
Here’s what you’ll need for this project:
- fabric
- vinyl ribbon
- hook & loop fasteners
- fabric glue
- decorative flowers
- pair of scissors
Start by wrapping the fabric around your music player. Cut the fabric so you have at least a 1″ allowance on all sides. My fabric piece was about 8″ x 5″, but your numbers may have to be adjusted to fit your music player.
Start by turning the fabric right side down and creating a hem of about 1/2″ on all sides. Secure with fabric glue.
Let the glue dry. Here’s what the right side of the fabric looks like at this point. Notice the nice and clean edges.
Fold the fabric over and apply a strip of fabric glue along the bottom edge and along one side edge. We have now created a pocket that will perfectly fit our music player.
The music player tucks right into the pocket. By measuring the fabric against the music player in the first step, we can ensure a tight, secure fit!
Now, let’s turn our attention to the arm strap. Attach one side of a hook and loop fastener to the edge of the arm strap with fabric glue.
Attach the complementary fastener to the other end of the arm strap with some fabric glue.
Finally, use fabric glue to attach the music player pocket to the center of the arm strap. I also added a decorative fabric flower to the pocket for a little extra embellishment, but this step is totally optional.
I like to wear this thing around the house. Whether I’m cleaning the kitchen or organizing the closets, listening to music always makes me happy!
Working out indoors has been really helpful for my overall health and well-being. To combat my seasonal allergies, I turn to Xyzal. This product offers 24-hour relief of sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, nose or throat. Perfect for both indoor & outdoor allergy symptoms, Xyzal is now available over-the-counter at CVS.
This bottle contains 35 pills, but this product is also available in 10ct, 55ct, and 80 ct bottles. Did you know that Xyzal is an antihistamine product that provides continuous allergy relief for 24 hours? I love that it’s just as effective at hour 24 as hour 1!
Just one tiny pill provides the relief I need to tackle my day and live life to the fullest. When my allergies are under control, I can play with my daughters, pursue my hobbies, get better sleep at night, and so much more.
I love that Xyzal is taken at bedtime, so I know Xyzal begins working while I’m asleep. When I wake up, I’m fully ready to conquer my to-do list and seize the day. Xyzal offers proven relief in 60 minutes and is offered at the full prescription strength.
Look for Xyzal at your local CVS store. By the way, Xyzal gives better symptom relief when you take one per day as needed. This product is intended to be taken at night. Be sure to read and follow all product labeling directions. To keep updated on the latest, be sure to check Xyzal out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
In addition to taking Xyzal, here are some other general tips for handling seasonal allergies:
- Remove shoes at the front door: When we walk outdoors, pollen and other allergens tend to stick to our shoes and jackets. Get in the habit of removing shoes & jackets once you get in the house to avoid spreading those environmental pollutants throughout the house.
- Close all windows: Particularly when the pollen count is high, keep windows shut. Turn on the forced air system (heating or air conditioning) in your home to keep the temperature comfortable. Always make sure to replace the air filter once it has exceeded its expected lifespan. Three months is a common time frame for an air filter lifespan, but check the labeling on your particular air filter.
- Rinse away the allergens: Before bed every night, get into the habit of a shower to rinse away allergens (pollen & others) from your hair and skin. This way, you won’t be exposed to the allergens throughout the whole night.
- Clean with a HEPA filter: Got carpets? Vacuum your carpets, rugs and fabric upholstery with a vacuum outfitted with a HEPA filter. This specialized filter is equipped to remove the smallest particles and allergens more effectively than a traditional filter.
- Exercise indoors: I have started getting into the habit of exercising indoors every day. Not only is it convenient during inclement weather, but it also protects me from seasonal allergies. To help motivate me and keep my workouts intense, I always listen to music while exercising.

This is such a great idea. Very crafty and smart. I love finding ways to do things without spending a bunch of money. I’m just not very crafty, but I have friends that are and they are always willing to help me out. This is one I’ll be showing them.
Wow! All my life, I never thought of having an arm strap, much more making my own! This is really great, and looks very easy. I hope it is really easy to do.
Such a cute idea. I love how easy you showed the steps in making it without making it difficult. These would also be great for gifts as long as you know what music gadget they use.
I also love music and like to take it where ever I am in the house. Thank you for sharing such a cute idea.
Wow a DIY arm wrap, how creative! I never thought you could make one yourself! Argh allergies suck, glad that xyzal is working to give you some relief
We swear by our HEPA filters. I also get honey from my local bee keeper and take it during winter into spring. It seems to help build my immunity to allergens. This year (knock on wood) I’m doing great! The arm band is adorable. I love how easy it looks to make!
That is the cutest arm strap ever! I want that hummingbird fabric!! My husband has been on Xyzal for awhile now since it was prescription only. It was the only medication strong enough to get him through spring and now that it is over the counter,, so many people will be able to get great relief fast.
This is a cute DIY. I would of never thought to creative my own music player arm strap but this is an interesting idea. I would put my phone in this and great for workouts.
[…] DIY Music Player Arm Strap – 1 freebie(s)? […]
Ah! I wish I had seen this a week ago I literally just bought an arm strap for my phone (my music player). Of course your DIY is way more fashionable. And seems simple enough. I might have to give it a go anyway!
I lost my ipod years ago, but I would buy one on ebay just to make this strap! It’s super cute! I will have to do a little more research on Xyzal. This year has been terrible for allergies and I can no longer take shots. How I miss them.
