My Focus Word for 2022
February 28, 2022Yep, I realize we are a few months into 2022 already, but sometimes it takes some time to parse all the circumstances… to digest what’s happening and to act accordingly. Before I get much further, let’s first address a common question:
Why Even Set a Focus Word for the Year?
I find it so helpful to set a focus word for the year. It helps to define the perspective, with which I will tackle the events of the year. It helps to define the mood I will attempt to evoke in the coming months. It also helps to determine my goals and what I will use as a benchmark for evaluating success for the year.
So What’s My Focus Word for 2022?
My focus word for 2022 is peace. Peace of mind, peace within my heart, peace within relationships, and peace throughout every facet of my life. In previous years, I have personally set focus words, such as productivity or contentment, but this year peace is where it’s at!
Should You Set a Focus Word?
You may be wondering whether there’s a real benefit to setting a focus word. I’ve already stated some of the benefits I realize as a result of setting a focus word, so I won’t repeat those. However, if you’re not sure if setting a focus word is for you, consider the following questions:
- Do you sometimes not know how best to address relationship conflicts, issues with jealousy, an overwhelming to-do list?
- Do you struggle with finding balance in your day-to-day life, not knowing the best way to tackle overwhelm?
- Do you have a list of things you’d like to accomplish, but you lack the motivation to actually follow through with any of them?
