7 Smart Weight Management Tips
January 18, 2018This is a sponsored post written by me for Native Remedies. All opinions are mine alone.
So how are those New Year’s resolutions going? Now that we are in the middle of January, it’s a great time to pause, reflect and make sure you are staying on track to reach your goals. For me, I started committing myself to a healthy lifestyle in the middle of last year. I shed about 30 pounds and have successfully kept it off. Which is huge! No pun intended.
Today, I will be sharing some of my best tips for a healthy lifestyle, including specific ways that I maintain my weight in a healthy range. From making smart food choices to adding Triple Complex Slimmer’s Assist™ to my daily routine, keep reading for my best, actionable tips.
7 Smart Weight Management Tips
1. Keep portions under control!
The basic math of losing weight (or gaining weight) has to do with calories consumed versus calories burned. One way that I keep my calories consumed in check is I make sure my portion sizes are under control.
- I always stop eating when I’m satiated – not when I’m full.
- I also make sure I drink plenty of water throughout the day. Did you know that sometimes people mistake thirst for hunger? Before you sit down with that snack, sip some water – you just may find that you’re no longer craving a snack.
- My final tip is to use smaller plates. When using smaller plates, research has shown that people consume fewer calories during meals. It’s a simple tip, but it can be incredibly effective.
2. Don’t skip meals!
A common misconception is that skipping meals might mean more weight loss. However, the opposite is actually true. Resist the urge to skip any meals, especially breakfast. Start your day with a delicious, balanced & healthy breakfast. It will keep you feeling fuller and give you the energy you need to tackle your day. The best part? It will avoid the inevitable overeating that happens when we skip a meal & get too hungry.
3. Turn to homeopathic medicine for assistance!
If you’re struggling with your weight, you should check out Triple Complex Slimmer’s Assist™ from Native Remedies. This homeopathic formula is designed to boost weight loss and promote a healthy metabolism by focusing on digestive system health. In fact, the product specifically promotes the body’s natural ability to break down dietary fats and to maintain the proper balance of cellular salts.
I have been using Triple Complex Slimmer’s Assist™ for several days and I really love that it’s a safe, non-addictive remedy that contains only homeopathic ingredients. Without the risk of dangerous side effects, this has been a welcome addition to my daily wellness routine (in addition to my gummy multi-vitamin and probiotic). This product is available in liquid form and I simply add it to an ice-cold glass of water. I love that the product is free of artificial colors and preservatives. Since it’s a homeopathic formula, it’s safe for all ages.
The formulation of this product contains a specific combination of three biochemic cellular-supporting tissue salts. Why are tissue salts important? The principle is that cells (and the body as a whole) are healthy when the proper balance of tissue salts is achieved. This product contains a tissue salt formulation that consists of specific doses of minerals to regulate the distribution of mineral salts. All Native Remedies products are manufactures in a FDA-registered and cGMP-compliant pharmaceutical facility under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Triple Complex Slimmer’s Assist™ is also gluten-free and vegetarian, which I totally appreciate. I simply take 0.50 mL 3 times daily – I place it in my water. It is advised to take it 10 minutes after a meal, or 30 minutes after brushing the teeth. Each bottle of Triple Complex Slimmer’s Assist should last for about 39-40 days when taking a typical adult’s dose.

4. Do some cardio every day!
Staying active every day is a no-brainer way to keep your metabolism high and burn those calories. Participating in aerobic exercise is an important component of a healthy lifestyle. Some options include using the treadmill or elliptical in the gym. You could also join a local pool organization and take on swimming laps. However, even walking every day makes a big difference – and it’s free. I love my activity tracker as it’s an easy way to keep track of my steps & activity over time.
5. Focus on fresh fruits & veggies!
Make sure most of your meals and snacks are rich in fresh produce. Fruits and vegetables are high in vitamins and minerals and should compose a large fraction of your everyday diet. For me, lunch usually consists of a big salad that is topped with mixed veggies and grilled chicken. Dinner usually consists of a lean protein (salmon or shrimp) paired with brown rice and plenty of veggies (Brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, etc.) For snacks, I love having some low-fat cheese and fruit.
6. Cook with coconut oil!
Coconut oil has been receiving a lot of positive attention recently – and for good reason. Coconut oil is a healthy oil. It is rich in healthy fats known as medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). Research has shown that these fats actually boost metabolism. I like to select a coconut oil that is organic and unrefined. Since coconut oil is high in calories (like all oils/fats), moderation is key. It’s a good idea to replace your current cooking oils with coconut oil.
7. Get enough rest!
Getting enough rest every night is key to keeping your metabolism at high levels. To make sure you’re getting enough high-quality sleep at night, put away all electronic devices in the evening. Consider spraying a lavender spray on your bedding to signal to your mind that it is time for slumber. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep every night.

You’re right, skipping meals is never a good idea and I used to be notorious for that. Now that I’m really watching my health habits, I’ve been really good about constantly drinking water and eating health meals. Love your tips – it really does make a difference when it comes to weight management.
These are some great tips I have to admit I am awful for skipping meals – I normally only eat 1 or 2 a day which really isn’t good for me.
I never skip meals especially since I tend to eat more after I skip a meal than when I eat on time. I think it’s also important to mind the portions that you’re eating per meal. These are very good tips!
I like your tips for managing weight. I am all for all natural ways to help achieve your goals too. I will have to add these to my routine to help stay on track with my resolutions.
These are great tips. We are focusing on a new, healthier lifestyle this year and I really appreciate all the help I can get.
The water tip is so true. My kids are always hungry so I make them drink water first and they usually forget about another snack.
This post actually reminded me that I ran out of my probiotic I need to pick some up this weekend, I do not like going without it, great tips!
My resolutions are TANKING so far!! But the year is still young so I’m not too worried about it!!
This was super helpful. I have really been scratching my head on how to manage my weight lately.
This sounds like a great way to help get your year started off on a healthier track.
Portion control is probably the hardest. We are so used to filling our plate and most of the portions are double or triple what you are supposed to eat.
I love your tips! I need to try coconut oil. And… the most important…. I need to sleep more at night! 🙂
Wow some amazing weight management tips. I definitely love incorporating more veggies and fruits in every meal. Going to give Triple Complex Slimmer’s Assist a try for sure.
I will admit, I’m known to skip meals. Its not always because I have the “if I skip this, I’ll loose weight” mentality… It’s more like, oh I have to get the kids ready, were running late, I am still full feeling from dinner 12hrs before. I am trying really hard to at least have some eggs in the morning – since our chickens are producing more than we typically eat.
These are really great tips! I love the idea about having cardio each day. I always feel better when I do that.
Great post! I’m HORRIBLE about skipping meals. I have 17-month-old twins at home. That should explain it. But I need to pay better attention to it, for sure.
These are some awesome weight management tips. I need to sleep more at night! and want to do some cardio in my routine.
Good for you at tackling your health and weight loss. I am on a similar path and realize after this week that skipping both meals and quality sleep is not the best thing for my health. Great post!
These are some great tips for weight management. I am doing several of these currently and I am finding success.
These are great tips. I’ll have to take them into consideration after this pregnancy since I’ll need to lose the baby weight.
I did accomplish some of the goals I had set for the beginning of the year, but I still have a lot to go throughout the year!
These are wonderful tips. I’m looking to drop some weight this year so I will have to keep these in mind.
