DIY Trolls Pencils
September 12, 2018This is a sponsored post written by me for Tampico. All opinions are mine alone.
Both of my daughters have loved Trolls for years and unsurprisingly, Poppy has always been their favorite character (hello pink hair). I recently discovered that Tampico (which I shared our love for it back in this post) has partnered with DreamWorksTV’s Netflix animated series, “Trolls: The Beat Goes On” and introduced the Tampico Flavor Hunt. To share our excitement over this partnership while gearing up for the back-to-school season, we made a few DIY Trolls Pencils and I can’t wait to share all the details with you.
Before I get into the pencil tutorial, let me tell you how much we are loving the Tampico Flavor Hunt! It’s an interactive Instagram-based game that transports players through 4 different worlds in the Trolls Village. The goal is to find the hidden “Trolls: The Beat Goes On” branded Tampico multi-packs. How cool is that?! Simply start at the Tampico Instagram account and look for clues in the pictures! If a player succeeds, he/she will be entered to win a $100 Netflix gift card! Click here to get started now!
Now, are you ready to see how I made some fun Trolls-inspired pencils? Start by gathering the supplies you’ll need for this project:
-
pencils
-
tulle (pink & blue)
-
hot glue & glue gun
-
small elastics
-
scrapbook paper
-
googly eyes
My tulle came in 6″-wide rolls and I cut a piece that’s approximately 18″ long.
Fold this piece of tulle into a small rectangle that’s about 1.5″ x 4″.
Using hot glue, secure the small tulle rectangle around the top of a pencil. To create the right shape, use a small elastic to gather the tulle together near the top.
Using hot glue, add some googly eyes onto the pencil right below the tulle. As an optional embellishment, you can make Poppy’s headband using embroidery floss (wrapped about the base of the tulle) and a bow-shaped piece of foam. Use hot glue to secure.
I actually made two of these adorable Trolls pencils! Do your kids love Trolls, too? Be sure to make a few of these fun pencils for the back-to-school season! Oh, and keep an eye out for the Trolls-wrapped Tampico six-packs in stores! Seeing the Trolls on the package always makes my girls extra excited when we buy Tampico!
By the way, the Tampico multi-packs are available in three irresistible flavors: Tropical Punch, Citrus Punch and Blue Raspberry. We have been gearing up for the school year and stocking up on pencils, notebooks, crayons & more. Aren’t these Tampico multi-packs convenient? One bottle is the perfect addition to a lunch box, am I right moms?!
Don’t forget to check out the Tampico Flavor Hunt and celebrate all the fun that Trolls has to offer!
By the way, the little tulle embellishments on these pencils can also be added to other accessories for even more Trolls-inspired fun! Add it to a popsicle stick for a Trolls bookmark or add it to pendant for a Trolls necklace. You’re only limited by your imagination. I know these Trolls pencils have been a huge hit around here- the girls take advantage of every opportunity to whip out their favorite pencils!
We tried the Tropical Punch flavor (and absolutely loved it), but we are looking forward to tasting some of the other varieties next! Look for Tampico multi-packs at a retailer near you!
