March 31, 2017 1 By EngineerMommy

Got a long day at the office? Or maybe the kids are starving by the time dinner rolls around? As a busy mom of two young kids, I know the value of dinners that are quick and easy to prepare. Most people do not want to spend a long time in the kitchen at the end of the day. Today, I will be sharing a number of amazing dishes that you can prepare in no time. What’s awesome is that all of these options taste delicious. Check out my top ten dishes you can prepare in under 30 minutes for your family this evening!

10 Meals You Can Make in Under 30 Minutes

1. Stir Fry

This famous dish is not only delicious, but it’s also quite healthy. Stir-fried veggies are so tasty that the kids won’t realize they’re eating something so nutritious! Top the veggies with your favorite protein (chicken always works great) and you will have a delicious, well-rounded dinner in no time at all. You can serve stir-fry with rice if you prefer.

2. Wrap with Grilled Chicken

I love a great wrap – it’s one of those dishes that’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or even snack time. Serve the wraps alongside a salad or a mix of veggies. I like to put grilled chicken in the wrap, but tuna or shrimp also work well. Of course, lettuce, tomato and onions work well in wraps, too. You can pick any dressing you like for the inside of the wrap – ranch dressing is always a winner around here. There are so many tasty sauces out there and classes that teach you how to make a delicious sauce. Chicken and Sauces is one of those classes offered by Cozymeal that teaches you how to create a awesomely delicious menu.

3. Chicken Parmesan Pasta

Who doesn’t love pasta? It’s definitely a family favorite around here. If you want something a bit more filling, consider adding some chicken to the pasta and serving it parmesan-style. Sprinkle some cheese on top and you have a tasty meal that is nutrient rich (due to the tomatoes). Add in some garlic bread and you have a meal for the family ready in under 30 minutes.

4. Lemon Chicken

Chicken and lemon just go well together. It’s so simple to infuse some citrus flavor into your chicken dishes. Take some chicken breast and add in some lemon sauce (olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest) to create a meal that is sure to please. The bright, vibrant flavor of lemon makes this a dish that is quite flavorful. I love to serve my lemon chicken alongside some vegetables or a salad.

5. Chicken Cheesesteaks

We have all heard of the cheesesteaks made with beef, but consider making one with chicken tonight! Start by toasting a bread roll. Add some cooked chicken and roasted vegetables. Top with melted cheese and serve with french fries. Quick and delicious, chicken cheesesteaks will go fast at the dinner table!

6. Piri Piri Wraps

Have you ever heard of piri piri? It’s a popular spice used in Portuguese cuisine. It has become popular in American cuisine recently- and for good reason. This dish is flavorful and easy to prepare. Simply serve it inside a wrap with some tomatoes and some cheese.

7. Sweet and Spicy Chicken

Chicken is never boring when it’s flavored correctly. Stick with white chicken and add some spicy sauce & sesame seeds. Simmer over low heat and serve atop a bed of fluffy rice. Dinner is served!

8. Chicken Piccata

One of my favorite chicken dishes of all time, chicken piccata is a tasty combination of lemon and butter. This rich chicken dish is perfect when served with some linguine pasta and veggies.

9. Smothered Chicken

Long gone are the days of plain baked chicken. Watch chicken take on a flavorful life of its own when you add peppers, mushrooms, onions and plenty of cheese. This is a quick meal that everyone is sure to love!

10. Thai Basil Chicken

Yes, you can enjoy Thai food that comes together in no time! Thai basil chicken is one of the most popular dishes of the area and it’s a dish that full of flavor! This chicken is best served with steamed rice. Of course, add some heat to the dish, as Thai dishes are meant to be spicy.

I hope this list has helped inspire your dinner choices tonight. Most of the ingredients for these meals  are either in your kitchen already or readily available at the supermarket. By planning dinner ahead of time, you can save time in the kitchen and enjoy your meal more quickly.
