DIY Layered Dessert Stand
So, here’s how to make this cute Layered Dessert Stand. Here’s what you’ll need:
- one large dinner plate
- one small salad plate
- high-strength glue
- ribbon or twine
- glittery washi tape
- glass candlestick
Start by using the glue to attach the candlestick to the center of the larger plate.
Next, add glue to the top of the candlestick and place the smaller plate on top.
Now, it’s time to make some decorative bows. Make one small simple bow.
Wrap the center of the bow with a small strip of glittery washi tape.
Make another one of these bows.
Secure the bows with a tiny dab of glue right to the edge of each plate.
I really love the way this dessert stand came out. The light blue color of the plates pairs so well with the navy blue tiny bows. I know this stand will make a few appearances on my dining table this year. During a recent trip to Target, I picked up two varieties of Tim Tams: Caramel and Dark Chocolate!
Before I loaded my dessert stand with Tim Tams, I had to try some of them. The Dark Chocolate variety features smooth cream, crunchy biscuits and a rich, dark chocolaty coating.
The Caramel variety is also a tasty treat! It features gooey caramel, crunchy biscuits and a milk chocolaty coating.
Now, it’s time to load up my dessert stand with Tim Tams. I love the great taste, convenience and affordability of these biscuits at Target!
Want to make your own dessert stand for Friendsgiving? You can personalize so many elements of this project, including the plate color, plate size, candlestick height, and so on.
I just know that this dessert stand is going to be put to good use this year! This makes a perfect display for my Tim Tams!
Did you know that Tim Tams have a pretty big fan base? Have you ever heard of the Tim Tam Slam, which is supposedly the best way to enjoy one of these biscuits? Simply bite off opposite corners of the biscuit, use it as a straw to drink a hot beverage (coffee, hot chocolate, etc.) and then pop the whole treat into your mouth! I have tried the Tim Tam Slam and I can personally confirm that this was the richest, most chocolaty bite I ever took! I am definitely a fan of the Tim Tam Slam!
Look for Tim Tams in the cookie aisle of your local Target store and experience for yourself the incredible taste of Australia’s favorite treat!

Wow, so simple and yet I never would have thought of it! It will be so easy to make these for all my gatherings now. Those desserts are making my hungry by the way. I am a sucker for caramel!
That dessert stand is so easy to make. I love the idea of bringing it filled with goodies (like the delicious Tim Tams) and leave it as a hostess gift when you are invited somewhere. So happy that Target is offering yummy products like this that are really hard to find anywhere else.
So cute. I have spent so much money on cake style stands and yours is so much cuter. I love the color too, it would fit my kitchen colors perfect. I am off to make some just in time for Thanksgiving.
How pretty is your dessert stand! I think I would put some homemade cookies on there. I always love making little treats such as those around the holidays. Can’t believe it is upon us. SMH!
That’s a really cute idea…although I would add a few more plates, lol! On that note, where id you get those plates? I love the colour and the design!
Got the plates the same place I got the biscuits : Target!!
Ive got to buy these they look delicious! The dessert stand is genius and looks really pretty for the holidays
Hit reply too soon 🙂 Wondering if youve layered three plates before? I celebrate my sons birthday on Thanksgiving and we always buy him cupcakes, this would be a really pretty way to display them at the table but I have a lot of them and would need three plates.
You could definitely layer three plates. Thanks for visiting !
Getting together with my friends and family is one of my favorite parts of the season. This Layered Dessert Stand will be the perfect addition to my dessert table! I love how simple it is to create, but it makes a grand statement.

Tim Tams are not a huge brand in Manila but surely I do like the chocolaty taste of this treat. The dessert stand looks beautiful with the bows. I also love that shade of blue. It looks relaxing to the eyes.
