5 Reasons to Consider Permanent Makeup
January 13, 2016Applying makeup is something that many of us do on a daily basis. It helps us look our best and even makes us feel good about ourselves. Personally, I never leave the house without at least some makeup. Lipstick, mascara and blush are essential for everyday occasions. And when I’m heading to a party or other formal occasion, I like to go all out: eyeliner, bronzer, contouring,… the works! It’s fun, but it can certainly be time-consuming! Have you ever heard of permanent makeup? If not, here are 5 good reasons to consider permanent makeup!
Before I get to the reasons to consider permanent makeup, here is a bit of background on the whole subject. Permanent makeup is actually a cosmetic technique that uses tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the skin) as a method of creating designs that mimic makeup. It can be used to mimic lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and so much more. The results can imitate cosmetics that are applied topically or can be unnoticeable, depending on color saturation desired.
So, let’s get to my list of reasons to consider permanent makeup!
5 Reasons to Consider Permanent Makeup
1. Save time every day.
I spend anywhere from 10 minutes to 40 minutes applying my makeup every day. So many women spend plenty of time in front of the mirror every day applying cosmetics to their faces. Saving that amount of time every day would be so nice. Personally, I would love to save that time and do something that I enjoy more, like playing with my daughters!
2. Minimize scars or burns on the skin.
Have any scars or burns that makeup can’t really conceal? Consider permanent makeup as a solution. You can permanently minimize the look of scars or burns. This would be a great way to permanently take care of a burn or scar that you really never want to notice again!
3. Avoid allergic reactions to traditional cosmetics.
Do traditional makeup products make your skin break out or cause an allergic reaction, but you still want to look put-together? Then, you may want to consider permanent makeup. You can still get that polished look without worrying about the ingredients in your cosmetic products!
4. Enhance eyebrows.
Eyebrows are such an important feature of the face, framing the eyes and really giving the face a nice balance. However, many women have minimal eyebrows for a variety of reasons, including over-tweezing, alopecia, chemotherapy treatment and more. Now with permanent makeup, you can get the eyebrows of your dreams permanently designed on your face! No more drawing in eyebrows every day and creating that unnatural look!
5. Get full, gorgeous lips.
Using permanent makeup on your lips can result in lips that have a gorgeous, healthy color. They can also appear fuller and more sensual. With permanent makeup on the lips, you won’t have to worry about lipstick wearing off or bleeding into the fine lines around the mouth. And you can opt to have one or two touch-up treatments to fine-tune the final color. Check out more about getting a lip treatment here.

If I were consistent in any part of my life and didn’t love applying makeup this might be an option. I prefer traditional tattoos versus getting permanent makeup on my face. I can see how this would benefit many though.
Permanent makeup is definitely not for me, but I can see how it would be very beneficial for some people! Great resource.
These are some great tips. To do this, you have to be 100% committed, and I’m not sure that I’m there! I’d love to see someone who has had this done in person!
I have always thought about getting permanent makeup. It would make life so much easier. Maybe I’ll reconsider this again.
This one would be a tough sell for me. I don’t know if I could do it or not, but I can see it as a really good choice for some people.
I can see how this would save a lot of time and money. Having permanently enhanced eyebrows would be really nice.
Waking up and being ready to face the world sounds appealing.
Not having to deal with bad reactions to make up is another great plus!
#2 for me! I have such crazy sensitive skin that switching products undoubteldy causes a reaction. I have considered getting some light permanent make-up eye liner in the past but I am scared for some reason, I have tattoos elsewhere on my body so I’m not sure what about it scares me exactly!
This is quite something new to me. I mean, seems like permanent make up is not yet that widely accepted here at our community.
These are all great reasons to consider permanent makeup. Most people would never consider permanent makeup but I have been thinking about it for a while now. I could really use some permanent eyebrow which are getting lighter and thinner with age.
I’ve actually thought about doing this. But considering your reasons, it really does save you time and money.
It’s tempting, but I think I’m scared to try it. Well, hopefully in the future ….
The only makeup that I normally wear is concealer. Not much eye makeup or on the lips. If there was something the permanently make my skin look flawless then I’m down for that!
While not something I would do personally, permanent makeup is very interesting to me as a cosmetology student. I need to do some more research on this.
The thought of permanent make-up on my face scares me! I do know people who have done it though and the results were amazing!
I never thought about it being an alternative to allergies because I am allergic to so much makeup. I just don’t think I could do it though.
I don’t think permanent makeup is for me. I wear makeup here and there but I’m more of a natural girl. Thank you for sharing.
I’ve heard of people getting permanent makeup! I heard of the brows but lips…no thats a new one!!
