The EASIEST Washi Tape Dispenser & Organizer
June 4, 2015This is the EASIEST ever version of a dispenser / organizer/ holder for washi tape. I have quite a lot of washi tapes… I may be obsessed with washi tape. How could you not be? They’re so small and colorful and adorable. I love adding new tapes to my collection. Also, I may or may not have just ordered another 15 more washi tapes on eBay the other day! 😉
However, I must admit that until now, my collection of washi tapes was not organized at all. It was just all thrown into an arts & crafts drawer, with no meaningful method. It was hard to find a particular pattern when I needed it. I just had to search through the whole collection in order to find what I was looking for. Here is a small sampling of what I was working with. Disclaimer: This is just a small fraction of my washi tape collection!
Now, let’s get to the SIMPLEST tutorial ever, shall we?!
The EASIEST Washi Tape Dispenser & Organizer
Grab a dowel rod and one of those long drawer organizers. I got my drawer organizer from Dollar Tree, in the kitchen wares section. Are you ready for the directions, friends?
Simply, thread the tapes onto the dowel rod (making sure all the tapes come out the same way) and stick the rod into the little holes on the organizer. So simple, right?
Now, I can easily see all my tapes. And if you have more tapes than will fit on one organizer, simply add more drawer organizers to the mix. I usually just rip my tape right off with my fingers. If you prefer having a serrated edge, you could always upcycle that serrated edge on aluminum foil (or plastic wrap) dispensers!
Hope this helps you wrangle your washi tape collection a little more easily!
