Use a wall guard to protect your walls from swinging doors

March 30, 2014 0 By EngineerMommy

My daughter has a habit of throwing her door open in the morning. Yes, she’s 2.5 and she has more energy than you can imagine. She sometimes takes out that extra energy on stuff around the house. She is not generally destructive. Not Generally. But she does give stuff around the house a test of durability, shall we say? 😉

We had tried one of those little door stoppers that attach to the baseboard and let the door bounce off of it, so the doorknob doesn’t even contact the wall. However, my daughter kept playing with that door stopper thing and kept taking it off. Hmmm… what to do, what to do.

We had a pretty nice sized dent in the wall from the doorknob hitting it so hard so many times.

I found a great solution. This wall guard does the trick! It’s self-adhesive so it’s a cinch to install and apply to the wall. And it’s vinyl so it’s easy to wipe clean and paint to match your wall. On top of everything else, my daughter doesn’t play with the wall guard and hasn’t tried to take it off yet.

Huge success!
