DIY Plastic Animal Trinket Box
November 24, 2014How cute is this DIY Plastic Animal Trinket Box?
It was such a breeze to make, and my daughter absolutely LOVES storing some of her jewelry (and a few other trinkets) inside. It lives on top of her dresser so she can access it whenever she is getting ready in the morning. Of course, since it is a handmade craft, this can be customized to any color palette. I chose a bright, cheery orange as the main color, because there is a lot of orange accents in her room – and because I had an orange dinosaur on hand! 🙂
So here is what the box originally looked like!
It’s actually a Paper Mache small oval box that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. It was about $1.
So I painted it bright orange, ran a strip of golden washi tape along the circumference of the oval and then hot-glued an orange dinosaur to the lid. Easy peasy!
I love how it stores all her jewelry & beads! So easy and she has already asked me to make a few more! I’d say this one is a winner!
