October 19, 2017This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Post Consumer Brands. All opinions are entirely my own.
The school year is already in full swing around here, and it seems like we are on-the-go all day long. However, when it comes to unwinding at the end of the day, my husband and I love to play a game or two on the Nintendo Switch. We recently got this gaming system and we absolutely love the versatility of the console & the amazing graphics. Today, I am sharing the recipe for Layered Strawberry Parfaits made with Honey Bunches of Oats® Strawberry cereal. Also, keep reading to learn more about how Nintendo has partnered with Post® Consumer Brands and find out how you could be entered to win 1 of 500 Nintendo Switch consoles!

Fancy enough for special occasions but simple enough for everyday snacking, this is sure to be your go-to recipe for satisfying a sweet tooth this year! I love that Honey Bunches of Oats adds the perfect combination of crispy & sweet flakes, along with crunchy clusters – it even has a delicious touch of honey! In fact, it’s a cereal I grew up eating & loving!
Layered Strawberry Parfaits
Start by gathering the ingredients you’ll need for this recipe: Honey Bunches of Oats Strawberry cereal, butter, sliced strawberries, whipped cream and strawberry syrup. For the detailed recipe amounts & directions, scroll down to the printable recipe card. By the way, look for these specially marked Post/Nintendo boxes in-stores- they’re only available for a limited time and you’ll need it for the sweepstakes I mention in a bit!
Start by adding the butter and cereal to a food processor.
Pulse until a fine, smooth ground is achieved.
Start by packing a few tablespoonfuls of the cereal & butter mixture into an oven-safe glass. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes, or until the crust is a firm golden brown. My glasses happen to be oven-safe, but if you don’t have oven-safe glassware, simply use ceramic ramekins or other oven-safe vessels.
After the glasses have cooled, top with some whipped cream, sliced strawberries, strawberry syrup and Honey Bunches of Oats Strawberry cereal.
Continue creating layers of these ingredients until the glass is completely full. Top with one final dollop of whipped cream & one strawberry slice! Don’t these gorgeous layers put a smile on your face? They sure do for me!
I absolutely adore the way that the strawberry syrup drizzles down to the layers beneath it! Mouth-watering, right?
I actually made a set of three of these babies! I have a friend coming over to play one of my favorite games on the Nintendo Switch. Did you know that Nintendo Switch combines the power of a home console system with the mobility of a handheld? I love that this means I can play the game in the comfort of home on the big screen, but I can also take the game on the go with me!
We have been getting so much enjoyment from our Nintendo Switch. With so many iconic classic games and numerous newer games, you’re sure to find a game you love! Notice the controllers (called Joy-Cons) in the picture below. They make it easy-peasy (and totally fun) to control the characters on the screen!
The Nintendo Switch system comes packaged with the main unit and a left & right Joy-Con (along with a wrist strap for each). This multi-player gaming experience is really perfect for the whole family!
In between rounds of playing our Switch games, we re-fueled ourselves with these tasty parfaits.
Each bite is the perfect balance of crunchy crust, smooth cream, fresh berries, and sweet syrup. It’s a total delight for the senses!
Discover why Nintendo Switch & Post are the perfect addition to all your family occasions! My husband grew up playing many Nintendo games and he is totally loving the retro graphics on the games we have in our Nintendo Switch library.
I, too, am totally immersed in the process of getting our characters to advance to the next level. Can you say marathon gaming session after the kids go to bed?!
One game I’m really looking forward to is Super Mario Odyssey (it’s available on October 27), which is a fun globe-trotting adventure that takes the characters throughout exotic destinations. In this game, the goal is to collect Moons to power up the airship (the Odyssey) and rescue Princess Peach from Bowser (I remember Bowser from previous Mario games). Packed with secrets & surprises, this game is sure to delight players of all ages. Mario’s new friend, Cappy, even lets Mario tackle a wide variety of new moves & techniques! How fun!
