I have been compensated by Glucerna for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own. Talk with your health care provider about a diabetes management plan that’s right for you. #GlucernaHungerSmart #CollectiveBias

As a mom of two young kids, mornings can definitely be busy around here! However, I always like to make sure I have a wholesome, nutritious breakfast to start my day. And since diabetes runs in my family, I’m well aware of the lifestyle challenges of managing diabetes. That’s why I try to focus on healthy lifestyle habits and keeping my recipes lower in carbs. Today, I’m so excited to share with you the delicious recipe for a Green Smoothie Breakfast Bowl filled with the goodness of spinach, almond milk, Greek yogurt and fresh fruits! Speaking of managing diabetes, did you know that the Glucerna® Hunger Smart™ Shakes are specifically formulated for those with diabetes? They have 50% more protein than the leading weight loss shakes, but they also have 66% less sugars. This makes them a wonderful choice to help manage hunger and stay full longer!

Since mornings can be hectic, I try to keep breakfast simple. I like to enjoy a Smoothie Breakfast Bowl almost every day of the week. It’s easy to prepare, totally nutritious and very tasty! My favorite variety is the one I’m sharing with you today: this Green Smoothie Breakfast Bowl. Filled with unsweetened almond milk, nonfat Greek yogurt, fresh spinach and fresh fruits, this smoothie bowl will get your day off to a great start!

I always try to gather & measure my ingredients first. It helps me make sure I have everything I need. After all, if you find that you are out of peaches, you can always substitute with another fruit! Smoothies are very forgiving! I love that about them!

I then placed all my ingredients into a high-powered food processor.

And I pulsed them until smooth throughout.

Here comes my favorite part: decorating the bowl! I poured the smoothie into a bowl and added some extra toppings: chia seeds, slivered almonds, blueberries and peach wedges.

When it comes to helping me stay full longer, however, nothing compares to the Glucerna® Hunger Smart™ Shakes. Since they contain CARBSTEADY®, which allows carbs to be released slowly over time and prevents blood sugar spikes, they’re a fabulously delicious solution for managing diabetes. Please keep in mind that while this shake may be suitable for one person’s diet, it’s best to consult your own doctor about what’s best for you.

These shakes are available in Chocolate and Vanilla. I was able to find a great value on the 6 pack of Glucerna® Hunger Smart™ Shakes during a recent trip to Walmart. Each shake has only 6 grams of sugar and 1 carb choice per bottle*.

I love that these shakes have so much protein. There are actually 15 grams of protein in each shake, which helps manage hunger well. This shake is a wonderful way to help stick to a weight loss plan!
