My Morning Routine for a Productive Day
February 12, 2018This is a sponsored post written by me for Vitamin Packs. All opinions are mine alone.
I have always believed that a great morning sets the tone for a great day. That’s why I am a big believer in morning routines. What is a morning routine? It’s simply a series of habits that we perform on a daily basis upon waking up. From scheduling my daily tasks to taking my daily vitamins, see how I make the most of my mornings.
1. Wake up early!
Studies have shown that waking up early is a common habit of many executives, CEOs, and other highly productive individuals. And it totally makes sense- by waking up earlier, you are finding more time in the day to get things done. Even waking up 30 minutes earlier every single day will add up to a significant boost in productivity over the course of a week. I am naturally an early riser so this tip is fairly easy for me. If you struggle with getting up in the morning, consider getting a smart alarm clock that will simulate a sunrise and wake you up gently.
2. Drink lemon water!
I usually start my day by drinking a tall glass of cold water infused with some lemon juice. This helps me to wake up more quickly and jump start my digestive system. Don’t juice a whole lemon – simply squeeze a quarter or half of a lemon in a glass of water. I usually follow my lemon water with a protein-packed breakfast, such as hard-boiled eggs with fruit.
3. Take vitamins!
Taking my daily vitamins is an important step of my morning routine. I recently discovered Vitamin Packs and I’m loving the personalized approach to wellness & nutrition. How does it work? Each customer creates an individual health profile by answering simple questions on the Vitamin Packs website.
Vitamin Packs then uses your answers to develop a unique supplement combination based on your lifestyle, habits, scientific research and the medications you take. You can even subscribe to get your vitamins automatically mailed to you each month. What you get are two packs: one to be taken in the AM and one to be taken in the PM.
The packages are designed to sit on the counter top and come on a roll of individually-wrapped vitamins.
You can simply roll out your daily vitamins. It operates like a roll of tape!
In addition to a useful travel case, the set also comes with beautiful information cards that describe the importance & benefits of the various supplements.
Here are some reasons I’m loving Vitamin Packs:

4. Schedule my day!
Without a schedule & to-do list, I would forget so many responsibilities and deadlines. I rely on my calendar and journal every single day to keep track of what needs to get done on any given day. Every single morning, I consult my calendar and use that to determine my daily to-do’s. I usually feel the most productive at the start of the day, so I try to tackle the bigger, more complicated projects first. If you feel most productive in the afternoon, organize your schedule accordingly.
5. Sip some tea!
There’s no question about my love for tea. I like hot tea, iced tea, lukewarm tea, … all types of tea! Why do I make tea part of my morning routine? It’s simple – it helps me relax and maintain a mindfulness that I can carry with me throughout the day. If you’ve never steeped loose tea, you should definitely try it. The act of pouring boiling water over loose tea leaves and watching the flavor infuse throughout is incredibly satisfying. I usually like to customize my tea by stirring in some honey and lemon.
6. Move around!
Getting my heart rate up in the morning is a great way to start the day on the right foot. I sometimes head to the gym and use the elliptical for a while. Other times, I will simply go for an energizing walk around the neighborhood. Even just doing a speedy deep-cleaning of the house counts!
