As a busy mom of two young kids, getting everyone ready in the mornings can sometimes be stressful. Between preparing lunches and getting the kids dressed, mornings can definitely get pretty hectic around here. However, to help make my mornings run more smoothly, I decided to organize some of my personal care products using a DIY Magnetic Strip Organizer. It is an easy way to keep some of my essentials readily available. Between my magnetic strip organizer and my NEW Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected Sonic Electric Toothbrush from Target, getting ready in the morning is totally fun again! This toothbrush comes with a handy dandy app that lets me track my oral care goals, as well as monitor my brushing effectiveness.
When the toddler is throwing a tantrum in the mornings, the last thing I want to do is start fumbling for a bobby pin. That’s why I love these magnetic strip organizers. They keep my personal care essentials (bobby pins, nail file, tweezers, etc.) easily accessible and in plain sight, giving me the opportunity to quell those tantrums before they get too far!

Here’s what you’ll need to get started with this project:
- magnetic sheets
- decorative duct tape
- scissors
- utility knife
- double-sided mounting tape

Start by cutting long strips out of the magnetic sheet. I made two sheets that were each about 1″x8″.

Place a piece of the duct tape on the magnetic strip, allowing the duct tape to overhang on all sides of the magnetic strip.

Flip the magnetic strip over and use the utility knife to trim away the excess duct tape on all four sides.

I actually made two of these magnetic strips. One will hold my bobby pins, while the other will hold a variety of other items.

Grab a piece of mounting tape and adhere it to the back of the magnetic strip.

Place two pieces of mounting tape on each magnetic strip and adhere it to the wall.

Now, it’s time to add little metal objects to our magnetic organizer strips. I added some bobby pins, nail file, tweezers, and more! Isn’t this such a useful addition to the bathroom? Keep in mind that you can personalize this project with your choice of duct tape, length of magnetic strip, etc.

I’m loving this DIY Magnetic strip organizer. I so need this for my kids. We are also pro electric toothbrushes. My son has braces and doesn’t always do as good of a job so this helps.
Those magnetic strips would certainly come in handy in my bathroom. I’m forever losing bobby pins and tweezers.
