I cannot believe Christmas is just a few weeks away. Since we are hosting this year, I am gearing up for the big day, decorating the house & planning the menu. I also still have plenty of holiday shopping to do over the next few weeks, but I did pick up a few Jurassic World toys from Walmart last week. It feels good to check off a few more people on my holiday shopping list! Today I’ll show you how I created an awesome Jurassic World Gift Basket! With a handful of supplies & a little imagination, I was able to create a really special gift!

We have a number of Jurassic World fans on our shopping list, so I stocked up at Walmart! I picked up on a number of Jurassic World LEGO products: Blue’s Helicopter Pursuit, Pteranodon Chase and Stygimoloch Breakout.

Instead of simply wrapping these boxes in ordinary wrapping paper, I wanted to create a unique gift basket! I decided to use a fabric storage container to present the toys. After Christmas is over, the recipient can still use the storage container to keep the toys neat & organized. Win – Win!

I came up with the idea to make the side of the gift basket look like the iconic entrance to Jurassic Park. Want to make one yourself? Start by cutting out the following items:
  • two rectangles from poster board (painted brown) – these will be the doors!
  • two triangles from foam board (painted gray) – these will be the columns!

Use a pencil to draw vertical lines on the doors to mimic the look of wood. Use hot glue to adhere the doors & columns to the side of the basket. See how the entrance is coming together.

Cut out an arc-shaped piece of poster board, paint it gray and adhere it to the columns. Print out the words Jurassic Park (feel free to use my version here) and adhere that to the center of the arc.

To create the flame-filled torches along the columns, use hot glue to adhere some small gray loops (cut from poster board) right to the columns.

Cut out small strips of yellow & red tissue paper, twist the bottoms of them, and insert right into the gray loops. Secure with hot glue.

Here is how the finished basket looks! I am absolutely in love with the way it came out.

We will be giving this set of toys away to a family friend, who’s a huge fan of Jurassic World! I know they’ll be so thrilled to receive this set! Welcome to Jurassic Park!

Since my daughters also love Jurassic World, I decided to pick up a few extras of these toys for them to play with right away! The first one they explored was the LEGO Jurassic World Stygimoloch Breakout!

With this set, they were able to build a fun laboratory (complete with an observation deck and dinosaur enclosure pen). The set even includes Dr. Wu – the girls really loved playing with him! There are 222 pieces in this set, so it was both fun and challenging for my girls!

This set comes equipped with a tilting workbench and a breaking-window function. There’s even a functional lifting gate! How awesome is that?!

The next one they checked out was the LEGO Jurassic World Pteranodon Chase. With this set, you can build an impressive high-speed vehicle! The set comes with a net shooter and a tranquilizer gun.

The object is to chase the Pteranodon dinosaur with the vehicle & trap the dinosaur in the net!

Head to Walmart for these Jurassic World toys and more. Use Walmart’s 2-day shipping if you’re shopping last-minute, but you can also head in-store to purchase these products. The “Battle Damage” products are exclusive to Walmart, so keep an eye out for them! Celebrate the #JurassicPark25 Anniversary in style!
