Tips for Getting Back Into Shape

March 16, 2016 22 By EngineerMommy

Toward the end of last year, I injured my leg and that kept me out of the gym for a few months. Now that my leg has (mostly) healed, I’ve been trying to lose some of the extra weight I put on and trying to get back into shape. So today, I’ll be sharing with you all some smart tips to lose some weight, follow a healthy lifestyle and even how to target those areas with stubborn fat. I’m particularly excited about SculpSure, which is a noninvasive body contouring program that can make a big difference in one’s overall shape. Let’s get to our list now, shall we?

Here are some easy steps I’m taking to get back into shape.

Make wise food choices: I’ve been sticking to a diet that minimizes starches, added sugars and animal fat from meat & dairy foods. I’ve been focusing on fruits, vegetables, egg whites, lean meat, fish and nonfat dairy foods. I also find that eating plenty of vegetables will provide fiber, antioxidants & vitamins and helps me feel full longer.

Drink enough water: Sometimes I’ll reach for a snack when I’m really just thirsty. So I make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep false cravings to a minimum.

Avoid junk foods: If I have cookies and chips in the house, then I am much more likely to want to grab something like that as a snack. So I make the decision at the supermarket not to purchase junk foods.
Ditch boredom: Did you know that sometimes the reason we reach for a snack is out of boredom? I try to avoid boredom by keeping busy with a hobby or other activity. Even better? I go for a walk if I need something to do!
Focus on cardio: Cardio burns the most calories so I focus on cardio for weight loss. I aim to do aerobic exercise at least 4-5 times per week. Also, I will occasionally add in some strength training activities. I love using a jump rope to get the heart rate up indoors when it’s too cold to go outside.

Do interval training: It’s a great way to increase the intensity of workouts. By adding in short bursts of high-intensity exercise, I can burn more calories in less time.

I can’t wait to get back into my skinny jeans – you know, those jeans that I’ll be able to fit into again once I lose another 10 pounds! If those skinny jeans could talk, they’d say “Jennifer, lose some more weight, so you can wear me again!” Do you have a pair of skinny jeans – or another article of clothing – that you’re waiting to wear once you lose some more weight? What would your clothes say to you if they could talk?

Learn more about how SculpSure can help you get rid of those stubborn fat areas and tell me: What are your tips for losing weight? Have you ever tried a body contouring treatment?
