Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! It’s a fun, festive celebration of fabulous costumes, delicious treats and great fun! This year, I’m making sure I don’t leave out any animals in my life. My best friend has two cats and so I will be making a Cat BOO Kit for her kitties! I can’t wait to share with you all how it all came together!
Want a sneak peek? Here is my Cat BOO Kit!
Cat BOO Kit for Halloween
The first step will be to make a white plastic bin look like a little cat’s face! Here’s what you’ll need:
- white plastic pin
- black chenille stems
- googly eyes
- pink foam sheets
- white foam board
- hot glue & glue gun
Take the white foam board & pink foam sheet and cut out shapes to resemble a cat’s ears (rounded triangles). Make sure the pink triangle is smaller than the white triangle. We will need a total of two white and two pink triangles.
Using hot glue, adhere the triangles to the top of the bin.
Now, attach the googly eyes to the bin using hot glue as well. Finally, it’s time to make the nose, mouth and whiskers. Cut an upside-down pink triangle from the foam sheet for the cat’s nose. Use the black chenille stems to form two “U-shapes” for the cat’s mouth.
Use the black chenille stems to form a set of four black whiskers on each side of the face. Isn’t this kitty cute?!
I love the way this little guy came together!
Now, it’s time to add something whimsical to go inside this cat basket. We will take a tennis ball and make it look like a little mouse! All cats love mice! Here’s what you’ll need for this part of the project:
- tennis ball
- brown sock
- black chenille stems
- black pom poms
- hot glue & glue gun
First, place the tennis ball into the bottom of the sock. Now, cut away most of the sock fabric, leaving enough material to wrap neatly around the ball.
Use hot glue and adhere the leftover fabric neatly around the ball.
Take one chenille stem and bend it so it looks like a tail. Attach it to the bottom back of the mouse.
Now, use hot glue to attach two tiny black pom poms to the front of the ball to resemble the mouse’s eyes. Attach one more pom pom to form the mouse’s nose and use some short chenille stems to form the whiskers.
Isn’t this an adorable mouse? I love how it came out! A gift basket is always a lot more festive and functional when it has some treats inside. Here are some of the treats I picked up from Walmart for my friends’ cats! I know they will absolutely love these snacks!
The first item I picked up was the Temptations® classic treats for cats tasty chicken flavor! I know from my friend that her cats absolutely love this flavor. These are crunchy outside and soft inside- cats love it!
I also picked up the Temptations® classic treats for cats savory salmon flavor! Made with the delicious flavor of salmon that cats adore, this treat is sure to please her feline friends! The package has 180 grams and was a great value at Walmart!
The final cat treat I bought was SHEBA® PERFECT PORTIONS™ Chicken Paté. This paté in natural juices is a savory chicken entree. I love the convenience of this packaging!
As another addition to this basket, I printed out this super fun BOO Kit Card! Click here to download your own BOO’d card. Here’s what you have to do:
1) Make a creative BOO Kit with fun treats and the BOO’d card.
2) Secretly Deliver it.
3) BOO it Forward.
The final things I added to complete this BOO Kit were the American Greetings® Halloween stickers and American Greetings® pink tissue paper!
Here is my completed BOO Kit! I love how it’s packed with treats that the cats will love!
This was a fun project and I’m so happy with how it came together!
I’m going to leave this BOO Kit on my friend’s doorstep. She will be so surprised when she comes home to find out she had been BOO’d!
Know someone with cats? You can BOO them, too. Simply make a BOO Kit and give it to them at school, at work, in your neighborhood, etc. It’s such a fun, easy way to get the pets involved in this fun season!
I picked up all my supplies for this BOO kit from Walmart. I love shopping at Walmart because I know I will always find a wide selection of quality products at great prices. Be sure to visit your local Walmart store to build your own creative BOO’ing Kit this Halloween season! Look for these cat treats in the pet care aisles.
You can even shop online at Walmart to order all the essentials you’ll need for a BOO Kit!
Now, get more inspiration on building your own BOO Kit and tell me: Have you ever BOO’d someone? Do you know anyone with cats who would love to receive a Cat BOO Kit?

What a cute idea for kitty cat lovers. They get to celebrate Halloween too-especially if you leave those cat goodies in the basket for the taking! I’m sure you’ll make some cats very happy
That is absolutely adorable! I love how easy this is to make, too. The best projects are cute and easy, and this one fits both of them.
This is the most adorable idea for our feline babies! I simply must make the mouse for my two cats. I know they would love it and maybe a tennis ball will be easier to find once they lose it!
My husband and I have several cats that we consider our children. They love their temptations treats and it’s too funny watching them line up at 8 o’clock at night when they get them. I love the basket that you made. Thank you for sharing the instructions on how to prepare it.
That is SUCH a cute project! I love doing crafts with my kiddo. We are constantly looking for a new one to do! This one will have to be the next project!
This is so cute! I love the bucket and my cats would love all the yummy treats inside!

That is a super cute idea, I don’t have any kids to make this with but honestly? I think it would be a cute decor to make for anyone, even us big kids 😉
That is the cutest cat boo kit I’ve ever seen! And it’s filled with everything a cat would love. I know your friend was thrilled! It’s so cute to see pets getting in on the Halloween action with treats just for them.
