February 16, 2016We make sandwiches every day in our house! They’re satisfying, delicious and easy to prepare. I recently had the pleasure of trying the Oscar Mayer Selects Natural Applewood Smoked Turkey Breast and fell in love with the delicious, smoked flavor. Since everyone loves turkey sandwiches, I decided to kick up the flavor and make an Applewood Smoked Turkey Sandwich on ciabatta bread with caramelized onions & avocado slices. A turkey sandwich can definitely be a gourmet meal when you have high-quality, great-tasting ingredients!
Boost the flavor of a turkey sandwich by checking out my recipe for this Caramelized Onion & Avocado Applewood Turkey Sandwich. It has a fabulous balance of flavors and textures. I love how the creaminess of the avocado pairs with the crunchiness of the ciabatta roll. I love how the sweetness of the caramelized onions pairs with the tartness of the vinaigrette dressing. This is sandwich perfection, if you ask me.
I served this sandwich alongside a few homemade rosemary potatoes and a tall glass of unsweetened iced tea. This was a delicious, wholesome lunch full of flavor! Want a sneak peek at the final product?

I love using a ciabatta roll when making sandwiches. I can rest assured that I’m having a single serving quantity of bread. And plus, the taste is delicious. I start by adding about 2oz. of the Oscar Mayer Selects Natural Applewood Smoked Turkey Breast onto one side of the ciabatta roll.
Then, I add one slice of yellow American cheese on top of the turkey.
I love adding avocado to my sandwiches. It adds a great, creamy flavor and I love that it contains plenty of the better-for-you fats! I simply add 2 slices of avocado to my roll.
Finally, I drizzle a tablespoon of vinaigrette dressing onto the sandwich and top the avocado slices with caramelized onions.
I served this sandwich with a few of my rosemary potato wedges. To make the rosemary wedges, I simply sauteed some potato wedges in a frying pan with a bit of olive oil, garlic and rosemary.
I added a few potato wedges to my plate and also enjoyed a glass of unsweetened iced tea. Easy & tasty!
While I enjoyed this lunch, I started planning out my gym schedule for the rest of the week. I try to head to the gym at least four times per week to keep up with my fitness goals. That got me thinking about my close friend, who recently tried a weight loss product that she saw on an infomercial. The product claimed to offer an effortless way to lose weight. Of course, it wound up being too good to be true and the product didn’t live up to those claims! Unlike that infomercial product, these Oscar Mayer Selects Natural product is NOT too good to be true! Each bite was bursting with wholesome flavor!

Easy! I just cross sections in the avocado away from the pit- on either side of the pit.
