Homemade Playdough Monsters for Kids
September 12, 2015Sometimes, with my kids, I find that I have to get super creative to keep them interested and engaged in an activity. We probably do play dough around here several times a week (at least), but even with something as fun & engaging as play dough, the kids can get tired of doing the same thing in the same way. I’ve done Sand Play Dough, Marbled Play Dough, Glitter Play Dough, & Speckled Edible Playdough in the past. This time, however, I came up with a fun twist on playing with playdough… making fun play dough monsters!
This little project is sooo simple and will only take about 5 minutes. Plus, you probably have all the ingredients you need in your kitchen already! Here’s the super simple how-to!
Homemade Playdough Monsters
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup salt
glitter (optional)
food coloring (optional)
googly eyes
Directions:
1. Combine the flour, water and salt in a mixing bowl.
2. Mix together until a dough-y consistency forms. Add more water if too crumbly… add more flour if too sticky.
3. Add the glitter and place the googly eyes on your little monsters!
It was a fun, easy project and the girls absolutely had a blast playing with their little play dough monsters! They loved taking the eyes out and putting them in different spots. They even created monsters with only one eye and monsters with three eyes!
It was a lot of fun playing with these monsters. Love easy kids’ crafts? Wait, there’s more to see! (Just click on the pics below to go right to that post!)
