DIY washi tape magnets
July 20, 2015These magnets will take very little time to make, but they are oh-so-adorable. I love using washi tape on just about everything I can get my hands on. With all the different patterns and colors available, isn’t it so much fun thinking of new ways to spruce up items around the house?
For great inspiration on what to do with washi tape, check out Cute Washi Tape Craft Ideas. I’ve used washi tape in the past to spruce up DIY bracelets, lamp shades, clothespins, dollar store succulents, and cute shower ring wreaths. I’ve collected such a large amount of washi tapes over the years, that I’ve needed to devise a method of organizing it, and I love my washi tape organizer and storage unit.
All you have to do for this craft is stick some washi tape on magnetic strips, trim the excess and stick it on a metallic surface! Easy peasy! Let’s get to the details, shall we?
DIY washi tape magnets
Supplies:
washi tapes, assorted colors & patterns
magnetic strips
scissors
Directions:
1. Pull apart your magnetic strips, so you have individual magnetic rectangles.
2. Peel a strip of washi tape and stick it onto the magnet. Trim the excess with a pair of scissors.
4. Repeat as necessary! Admire your craftiness!
Aren’t they darling?
They make my refrigerator just look happy!
And that makes me smile! My daughters also are in love with them by the way! I can’t blame them; these lil babies are colorful and fun!
I hope you try this craft. It’s easy and rewarding!

They are really easy peasy, but very nice! I think I’ll do some for my board!
They are so simple to make, but so pretty & so fun nonetheless! Thanks for stopping by, Emanuela!
I’m dropping by from Carolyn’s Homework link party. This idea for magnets is so wonderful. And easy. I like easy. It seems like I’m always needing some magnets — I’m going to make a whole flock of these!!
I have a link party that I am trying to grow. It is Grandma Ideas Sharing Time at http://grandmaideas.com. It runs from Wednesday 12:00 a.m. through Friday night at midnight (Mountain Daylight Time). I think my readers would love this idea as much as I do. I encourage you to share this — and a couple of other ideas, too.
I hope to see you there.

I like easy too, Nina! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
How fun and easy! I have to admit, I have yet to really explore the world of washi tape but it all looks so cute and not to hard to work with.
I am co-hosting the #HomeMattersParty link party this month and would love to have you stop by for a visit. The door is open through Monday http://alaynascreations.co/2015/08/07/home-matters-linky-party-49/
Once you get one washi tape and see how much fun it is to work with and craft with, you’ll want a bunch more! At least that’s what happened with me! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Alayna!
Loved how simple & cute these are and shared them here: http://craftivitydesigns.blogspot.com/2015/08/kick-off-friday-5-simple-projects-to.html
Also, wanted to say “hi!” because I am an engineer, as well. All that critical thinking helps us make our homes better and simpler too 🙂
These are really so easy to make and so adorable! Thanks for stopping by, Lora!!
And I love that you’re a fellow engineer & blogger, too! Which type of engineer are you?
This is such a simple yet clever idea! Washi tape is one of my favorite craft supplies. Thanks for linking up with Creative Spark; I’m featuring your magnets tomorrow. Hope you’ll stop by to grab a “featured” button and link up with us again! The party starts at 6am EST 🙂
Love washi tape, too! I think I have way too much of it! 🙂
Thanks for your comment & the feature, Emily!
I LOVE WASHI and your blog post is super cool! Thanks for sharing the ideas.
Washi is one of my fave craft supplies, too! Thanks for stopping by, Helen!
