DIY Beaded Ornaments
December 18, 2015I’ve been making ornaments like crazy around here. If you’ve been following this blog for the last few weeks/months, you will know that making handmade ornaments is something we’ve been doing pretty much a few times a week! It’s a fun tradition that I did as a child, and now I’m passing that on to my kids. And they absolutely love these little arts & crafts sessions I set up for them!
DIY Beaded Ornaments
This is a great craft project for kids to help out with. Getting these tiny beads on the wire is a great activity for working those fine motor skills in preschoolers and older kids. If your kids are younger, you may want to use larger beads and string to make it easier for them to participate!
Supplies:
small glass beads
beading wires, different colors
Directions:
1. First, start by making a tiny loop in a strip of wire.
2. Start threading the beads onto the wire. Once you have all the beads placed on the wire, simply make another tiny loop on the other end and trim the wire.
3. Now, simply shape your beaded wire into different shapes. We did a Candy Cane shape, a star, a heart, and more!
This was such a fun, easy project. My 4 year old helped out a lot with this craft, and she really had a lot of fun threading all the tiny beads onto the wire!
