DIY bubble snake: great summer kids activity
July 25, 2014This DIY bubble snake is a really neat way to make a fun twist on the classic summer activity of blowing bubbles. By using stuff you most likely already have in the house, you can make a cool bubble toy that will amaze your kids!
With Summer in full bloom, I’m always looking for new and fun activities to do with the kids. Better if the activities are outside! Even better if they keep the little ones engaged for a while!
DIY bubble snake: great summer kids activity
Supplies:
- Toilet paper roll
- Kids sock (or adult sock)
- Rubber band
- Bubble solution
Directions:
- Stretch the sock around one end of the toilet paper roll. Use the rubber band to secure the sock on the roll.
- Pour some bubble solution into a small bowl.
- Dip the sock-covered end of the roll into the bubble solution and then blow air into the other end of the toilet paper roll. The result is pretty spectacular! A long, multi-component bubble snake that is gorgeous!
You can even color portions of the sock in different food colors and see a rainbow bubble snake. Or you can try using a mesh net on the end of the toilet paper roll for a different bubble snake. Lots of possibilities!
