I love picking up cute stuff at Dollar Tree. Does anybody else walk through the aisles of that store and find about 10 “unnecessary, must-have” items every.single.time? I always walk in there needing like one or two basic items, like maybe construction paper for the kid’s artwork and some new batteries. By the time I’m ready to check out, I check the wagon and it is filled with everything from artificial flowers that are so pretty, some cute craft supplies that my girls will love, maybe some fun candy as a treat, and on and on… Anyway, the last time I was walking through the store, I walked by their Garden section and saw these oh-so-adorable succulents. They’re artificial but they are so small and so cute! I picked up three of them!

Then I came home and thought that some washi tape on the container part would really make them pop a bit more. So I started looking through my washi tape collection. And started making a pattern. Oh and while I was at the dollar store, I also picked up some decorative duck tape. That’s the tape in the picture with the green trees! How cute?

So on one of the pots I simply made stripes with gold washi tape. On another one, I wrapped the tree tape all around and then made diagonals with the gold tape. These two sit in an oval bowl on the kitchen island.

On the third one, I wrapped it first in the tree tape and then wrapped the bottom half with green yarn. This one sits on a shelf in the living room.

I hope you like the transformation of my succulents! It was so easy, and like most projects that are customized, it was so much fun!
